*PRAISE* Branston Baked Beans

Following on from a seperate topic a few weeks ago I took somebodys advice and replaced Heinz Beans with Branston Beans. I have to say what great advice it turned out to be. Not only could I pick up 3 tins for £1 at ASDA instead of 4 tins of Heinz at £2, they actually taste a hell of a lot better too. The sauce is really rich and tasty and the beans seem a little better quality. The only downside for me is that you have to cook them for a little longer as I don't think they bake them for as long as Heinz do and some of their beans can feel a little stiff if not given extra cooking time.
Thanks anyway to whoever it was that gave me the advice.

I have a bit of time on my hands so complained to Heinz with the belowOver recent years and I cannot put my finger on the exact time it occurred I stopped enjoying Heinz Beans as much because the sauce seemed to become thinner and less tasty and the beans with less flavour. I for some time thought it must have just been me until I was advised to give Branston Beans a go. Their beans have more flavour and their sauce is thick and tomatoey, unlike Heinz. Not only this, I picked up 3 cans for £1 in ASDA instead of 4 cans of Heinz for £2, so not only am I enjoying my beans more they are far cheaper too. I think I stuck with Heinz based on an historical reputation of Heinz being superior to all the other brands, but now after this incident I have decided to leave my bias towards Heinz at the door and start replacing your products with other brands. I suspect that at some point you have adjusted your recipe for the worse at some point in favour of cost cutting, but I thought you should know that more and more customers will eventually have the realisation like I have and move brands. What a waste that would be after decades of Heinz being regarded as the trusted brand to erode that belief away with inferior products.
I will keep this thread updated of any results I have from Heinz but I won't be holding my breath.0 -

I can't convince my OH to move away from Heinz. Stubborn as hell when it comes to beans, for some unknown reason, and says the only food item we buy she won't compromise on is beans.0

Maybe you should buy a can and Put a Heinz label on. Make the beans for your partner and mention it tasted like a new recipie and ask what they think0 -
It's a good idea. The great bean swap! :rotfl:0

My mum did it to me when I was a kid with Wheatabix, I insisted I didn't like the others until she slipped ASDA own brand into a Wheatabix box :rotfl:0 -
The only thing I wish is that Branstons had a ringpull. I am absolutely useless with a tin opener (I sound a bit thick here!) and too stubborn to buy an electric one. The beans are far superior.0

I agree with that. MKaybe it keeps the cost down, but I see no reason why all tins can't have ring-pulls these days.0 -
Maybe the lack of ring pull will foil my big bean plan0
