TravelTalk SIM warning
I recently bought a TravelTalk SIM, because it was recommended as the cheapest global SIM on MSE. And I haven't been charged to receive calls, however my Mum used her free minutes (with 3) to call my TravelTalk UK SIM number and she's been charged. She now has a £100 bill and only knew she was being charged because she'd…

Hey forumites. We’d love to know if you have any feedback on the National Citizen Service. Like… • Has your child been? • Did they enjoy it? • What did they learn? You can register your child for the upcoming Oct half-term programme (as long as they've not been before). Full info:…

Johnsons Cleaners ruined my sisters Uggs!!
My sister took in her Uggs for dry cleaning at her local Johnsons dry cleaners at a cost of £35 back in October. They 'cleaned' them, but now they don't stand anymore. She's only worn them a dozen times so she's really disappointed. She wrote for compensation, and they've offered her £110 in total. Her Uggs cost £150 so…

raspberry ketones free trial scam - HELP!!
I saw advertising for a free months trial for raspberry ketone diet pills so I paid the £4.95 postage fee without realising that I have to send back the diet pills within 14 days AND pay postage price but apparently (so I have heard from other people) it does not get back to them before the trial is up and they charge you…

Warning: New Royal Mail Import Charges
My daughter recently sent for a costume necklace from the US worth about £30. Today we were contacted by the local Royal Mail sorting office to say there was a £19 import charge to pay! We were told they have recently reduced the value of goods which have to have duty paid from £30 to only £15! Vigman

Vent - United Utilities
Just had my renewal notice from United Utilities for Water charges for 2014. Included in the envelope was a flyer which said 'We've got good news' it goes on to say ' This year, recognising that bills are increasing in many of life's essentials we want to do our bit to help. That's why we have included a discount in your…

Grrrr Brand Match
Been a fool again and paid full price for going out of date reduced stuff via brand match. I use brand match to my own advantage I plan some items (things like coffee/alcohol/cat food etc) I am buying to get the maximum vouchers. But and not for the first time I made a simple mistake. I bought a branded item which was…

Lurpak
Having bought packs of Lurpak (I really do use it; so not a waste of money)in order to claim a Lurpak Heroes reward, I find they have always issued their daily allocation. Searching the web I see I am not alone: insufficient rewards to satisfy everyone who has purchased the packs. So another bad marketing tool. Why don't…

Copycat Websites
I wonder what hpuse makes of this one then? http://www.edreams.co.uk/ Comes to the top of the sponsored ads when googling for Ryanair. Surprised they have not pulled them up on it though knowing what Michael is like protecting his brand.

ASDA cheeky pricing
Just a vent. My ageing cat can only cope with one type of food, she is prone to eating anything else as it makes her sick on nearly a daily basis. So we always have to buy Whiskas Senior Fish in Jelly pouches. Over the last couple of months the pricing in Asda has been all over the place! They were on offer as 2 for £5 and…

Home Protect Ltd West Sussex
Just wanted to rant. Elderly mum fell victim to cold call selling. ( of which she receives tons!) Laughable really, they rang confirming that she was registered not to receive unsolicited sales/marketing calls, giving her the impression they were acting on behalf of BT. They informed her that they could provide a service…

Radisson Blu Hotel, Birmingham
This is a warning mixed with a bit of a vent. I was in Birmingham on a course on Wendesday 12th, due to travel home to the North West via train. I'm sure, like many, my travel plans were disrupted that evening and I ended up back at New Street (with the rest of the North West delegates), with no way of getting home any…

Unwelcome surprise in my grapes
I'm not sure if this is the best place to post as is both a vent and needing advice. I went to M&S yesterday to buy a valentines meal, and picked up some grapes while I was there. I was eating the grapes, and looked down and found a spider's nest in the bunch, complete with eggs. I was completely freaked out as I am…

Shame on you! - Premier Inn
Yesterday (Friday 14th February), I, like many other people suffered an arduous train journey due to yet another dreadful storm hitting the UK. My journey from Brighton should have seen me arrive in Dorchester at about 8.10pm Friday evening, but the train didn’t arrive there until 2.20am Saturday morning (after almost 10…

Amazon Market Place - Avoid FozTronik
I would strongly advise doing your research before buying any form of technology through the Amazon market place. I was UNFORTUNATE enough to buy a "NEW" Sony Vaio laptop from one of their market place sellers (FozTronik). I experienced battery failure within 90 days and tried to contact FozTronik who refused to respond,…

Tesco Hudl buying fiasco
**Not sure where to post this so feel free to move it .. ** I thought I was really saving money but didn't realise that I'd be wasting SO much time trying to buy a tablet. Although all the people I've spoken to have been very pleasant, I'm so frustrated that I've now posted this on the Tesco Facebook page. Will it have any…

Louise Walsh Int
Just a warning to others not to use Louise Walsh International. I ordered an eyelash kit in November and still have not received it. Despite several e-mails and phone calls. When I called, woman said would only deal with queries by e-mail. I told her I had tried that several times but she refused to help me on the phone.

Problems with Arden Grange Dog Food
Are there any customers of Arden Grange dog food out there who have noticed a sudden drop in the quality (texture and taste) of their lamb product? I emailed the company and was told it would take five days for a reply (what?). A week later, still no reply, so I phoned them and explained the problem. The lady on the other…
