TravelTalk SIM warning

I recently bought a TravelTalk SIM, because it was recommended as the cheapest global SIM on MSE. And I haven't been charged to receive calls, however my Mum used her free minutes (with 3) to call my TravelTalk UK SIM number and she's been charged. She now has a £100 bill and only knew she was being charged because she'd reached her credit limit. I've emailed TravelTalk and asked them for full details as I can't see anything written on their website or on my paperwork regarding this. I have had good reception in Sicily and the SIM works, but I only bought it so that my UK friends and family could text and call me for free. I'll update this post when I get a response from Traveltalk.

Number band Cost per call Cost per minute
07452 0p 46p International 07 number for Isle of Man and Channel Islands - see Price Guide or https://www.three.co.uk/international for more detail
So 46ppm (not included in 'free' minutes - it's on Three's website)

Will it be expensive for others to call me?
Calls made to your Traveltalk SIM number from the UK should be charged as Band FM11.
BT: 16.8 pence per minute.
UK Mobile networks: Most networks will charge between 20-35 pence per minute, as per calling a UK mobile. It is at the network providers' discretion as to whether calls are inclusive in any free calls you have.
So I suppose I have to get all of my UK friends and family to ask if the will be charged or not. Not exactly the convenience of having this SIM card that I bought into!0 -
Hi
My parents purchased one of these sim cards too so i could use my inclusive minutes. I've been charged and on contacting my mobile provider Three, they said it wasn't a Uk mobile number as advertised by Travel Talk.
I contacted Traveltalk today and they've now updated their website to say its an Isle of Man mobile number!
I've registered a formal complaint as that was not what was purchased, i have screenshots of their website clearly stating a Uk mobile number is supplied.
Lets see how i get On!

I bought a traveltalk telephone and sym and have not managed to use the phone at all. Every time I enter the pin number to switch on the phone it tells me it is incorrect. I now have to contact traveltalk direct to receive my PUK number. I have sent them two e mails that have been returnedto me as undeliverable and today I have tried telephoning them but am been told the number is unobtainable. Is anyone else having similar problems or has anyone managed to successfully contact them.0
