Nationwide Travel Insurance: good service

Options
There have been some horror stories posted about travel insurance... and in any case, when something is free I expect it not to be much good, since "you get what you pay for".

Anyway, I recently had to make a claim on the free travel insurance that comes with the Flex account. My claim was handled politely and professionally, and payment came within a reasonable time. I would compare the service favourably with that provided by American Express on their travel insurance.

I second this post. I broke my arm in Spain and the hospital asked for my travel insurance, the claim was handled very efficiently, they even rang me to ask about my travel arrangements for returning home and booked me a window seat on the flight. No quibbles either when I upgraded for the current year. Well done Nationwide.

    This is reassuring to read.

We also have the free Nationwide travel insurance and pay an extra £20 per year to upgrade it to worldwide. We like to travel around Asian countries - last year Malaysia & Borneo, this year Vietnam - and it is important to have a reliable insurance in case something goes wrong.

    Hi,

I see they have good feedback on handling insurance claims.

Still, can anyone shed a bit of light into the mist I am

I'm trying to apply for this account in joint name with my partner to benefit from the free european travel insurance but we have 2 kids - are they covered by it?

And also to qualify for it in a joint name does it mean we both have to pay £750 a month each?

I am a bit weary as I can't find anywhere clarification on this.

Hope this makes sense and any info would be gratefully received

    Thank you in advance
