Praise for Vision Express
I bought my glasses from Vision Express well over three years ago. The other day the bit under one of the lenses broke and the lens fell out. Went to their shop and fully expected to pay a fee for having them fixed. The staff were very helpful and friendly, asked me to call back in an hour. When I went back they handed me…

Aldi horse meat contaminated products - why no refund yet?
Are Aldi offering any refund yet to consumers that have purchased any of the Aldi products that may be contaminated with horse meat? When this issue first broke, Tesco were hung out as the main culprit with horse meat found in some of their budget line beef burgers. Whilst initial reports also suggested that Aldi in…

Praise...Hi-Tec
Just a quick one. Shoelaces on my Hi-Tec walking shoes were becoming a little frayed. Had a look at the Hi-Tec website, but they don't sell them. Used the "contact us" form to ask which retailers would sell the laces I needed, after a couple of e-mails back and forth, I was told a pack of ex-display laces were in the post.…

Bombarded to claim personal Injury
I'm really annoyed with these legal firms bombarding me with calls to claim money set aside for 'un-claimed' money for personal injury. It was a small bump from behind and amicably resolved between insurance companies. They are asking me to tell lies that I have suffered discomfort, whiplash etc. Does anyone know how to…

I "wasn't" in to receive my mail...
Royal mail has given me their little red 'you were out' cards, I wasn't out I have had 2 of these cards in 2 days, the first time, I was in the flat as well as my 4/5 flatmates (technically 4, but Sophie's boyfriend practically lives here). The boys were waiting around for a mate to knock on the door. None of us heard a…

I deposited a few cheques last week. Most were for small amounts less than £100 each. These cheques all cleared into my account today however the one cheque which was for about £1400 has gone missing. I have proof that the cheque was given in but so far the bank are just saying they have no record of it.

Sky - Praise
Just a quick one for existing customers to try. I phoned Sky to cancel a 3D pack, to be asked if there's anything else they can do for us. I explained that our income is going down (it is, but only by about £300 for the year), and if there was any chance of a bill decrease for the time being, that would be brilliant, and…

Council Waste Money
My council North Tyneside have for a number of years had a separate collection for garden waste. They decided in 2012 to introduce a £20 annual charge for this service. However a vast number of people said they would not pay and that they would not use the service. After reconsidering the position the council have now…

I ordered a DVD and paid £4.99 for next day delivery, so that it would arrive in time for a birthday. Stafford hospital
Well, what's everyone making of the news about this hospital? Is the NHS now a different beast than it used to be? (Yes, IMHO). I've been in a few Trusts across my career and I KNOW the issues that are being talked about today are nothing new, and not confined to Stafford, and there will be a few suited managers shifting…

A few days ago I ordered an item from Saverpoint (.com). It was £90 including postage. I paid by credit card. They called me a few days later asking me if I would like to choose an alternative as the item I ordered wasn't in stock. No indication of this when I placed the order. At the very same time they called me they…

Amazon - spectacular customer service
I'm a big fan of Amazon and I spend a lot of money with them, but my latest interaction with them is worthy of special praise. In October I bought a Wacom Intuos 5 Large from them (basically a big graphics tablet, I use it for my work). Costs a little short of £400. Recently I noticed there were problems where the pen…

Archers Sleep Centre - BEWARE!
i just bought couple of wardrobes online from a company called ArchersSleepCentre. Even the professional carpenter took around 3 hours to put them together and he had…

Excellent service from Lego.
My son recently had some new Lego sets which contained a few yellow parts that were a paler shade than normal. The difference was only noticeable in certain lights, but after a few weeks it started to annoy me (I'm a bit of a Lego snob, and colour consistency is one of the reasons why I won't allow the cheaper versions of…
