Just a quick one for existing customers to try.
I phoned Sky to cancel a 3D pack, to be asked if there's anything else they can do for us.
I explained that our income is going down (it is, but only by about £300 for the year), and if there was any chance of a bill decrease for the time being, that would be brilliant, and ended up walking away with free HD and £15 per month off, for a year.
Let me know how you get on!

Wow that's very generous of them! Well done to Sky0

I rang them last september and used the "I want to cancel my subscription" routine and got almost 50% off for 6 months,im back on full rate now so I wonder how long to reasonably wait before trying again.Im sure they must keep a record of when you call and the deal they give you to stay but im also sure there will come a time when they will call your bluff.0

They've recently reduced my subscription too for 6 months after i called to say i was thinking of cancelling. Never had any problems with them in 9 years.0

My mother called to say she was thinking of cancelling, partly because they haven't upgraded the receiver in 10 years and she can't receive any of the regular HD channels (BBC HD) on her TV because of it. She was offered a new HD box or a fifth off her bill for six months. She has been a customer since it started, and they wouldn't give her a decent rate unless she was willing to switch her broadband to them, even though she had left them due to service problems.
She has cancelled them altogether now. Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....

We cancelled our Sky subscription not long ago after their repeated phonecalls trying to get us to add things on to our bill, which my Mum agreed to a couple of times when I wasn't around. Also, they're so expensive for what they are, we don't watch half their channels and we were having terrible problems with the broadband that they didn't seem interested in fixing.
Alls they offered to do for us was freeze our payments at a set price for six months, so we cancelled, tbh, I find them very overrated.~
Heaven's heard me calling. The stars have all aligned.0 -
You inspired me to phone up and cancel and they've knocked £20 a month off for 9 months.
