One used car - TWO prices!
Me and the OH have been looking to trade in our car. Not looking for anything particularly special, probably spending around £4k. We're been looking on Autotrader, then visiting garages that have cars of interest. There seems to be a common theme though - the price on Autotrader is always approx £500 lower than the price…

What should we confirm over the phone when THEY call us?
I've always been a bit sketchy about this kind of info. For example, had a call from Santander offering 3 months emergency home cover for £1 (as we have our mortgage and insurance with them), but turned out that we can't do it anyway as our boiler is too old! However, before we got into the call, I was asked to confirm…

Encompas Limited - Heating systems
The above company, based in Carlisle, went into administration a couple of weeks ago and I've just received confirmation that it has gone bust, and is now in liquidation. This is a warning to anyone affected that there are indications that money paid in advance, which should have been kept separate from the company's…

Not sure I can talk him out of it tho ;-(

Grand Prix Rant
Is anyone else annoyed that next years Grand Prix circuit will be shared between BBC and Sky ? This, presumably, means that many people, (myself included) will only be able to watch 50% of next seasons races ? Yes, we have sky - but are not going to fork out over £12 per month on a Sport upgrade, just to add Grand Prix to…

HD, POsturfil and misleading marketing.. Harrison Beds.. confused
Hello, I'm considering cancelling my recentlyplaced order for a Harrison Bed Tailor Quartz 4000 (3000 springs in mattress, 1000 in base, rather misleading already!). No one in the shops has a clue it seems, and Harrison's themselves don't seem too clued up either. I found out that a sheet of HD springs for a King size bed…

flamingo land
Got in touch with Flamingo land to see if they give discounts to charity or free passes. Reply was no. They did point out discounts in magazines though. Its a pity that they dont at least give a discount to charity as most theme parks and attractions do.

Pipex Homecall and Talk Talk, DONT USE THEM!
I have recently moved over to O2, however canceling the contract with Pipex was a nightmare. First of all you need to find the cancellation departments number, when you do find it is a foreign call cente in which they keep you waiting on an expensive tariff. Then as soon as you finally get to the point of cancellation they…

Cant find the original post
OK, I'm sure I'm not going mad. Some point in the last week someone posted on here about a farmers field in woodham being used by gypsies prior to some big festival. Many posters were commenting on whether or not the OP was being entirely truthful with us all. I cant find this thread but have seen this story in todays…

Hermes couriers
Just need to vent over what some people may seem trivial, but it has left me completely confused. At 8.32 this morning while having a cup of coffee watching the news something fell through my letterbox (I thought it was junk mail as we get loads so I didn't move), after a couple of minutes I got up to find a delivery…

Just a bit of a niggle. Went to Asda this morning at 5:30am (couldn't sleep). I usually use the 3 for £10 meats to get pork steaks, chicken fillets, and mince meat. This morning i get to the display, and find prawns, lamb, pork, chicken fillets, and a gammon joint. (this display is usually at an aisle end and is exclusive…
