Price rises above and beyond vat!
Have others noticed that a number of shops have used the increase in vat to bring in price rises above and beyond vat. The increase should be just over 2.1%, yet locally we have price increase of between 5 and 20% (i.e sandwich shop up 20%, fish and chips extra 20p - 16%, pub extra 15p pint etc)

Asda selling out of date food
Visited local Asda on New Years Eve and picked up (amongst a lot more) some reduced pate which we planned to have that evening. When I got home I peeled off the reduced label which was covering the sell by details. Display date showed 27 Dec, use by date 29th Dec. I called the store and explained the situation and…

John Lewis - surprised at such bad customer service
I always shop at John Lewis when possible as their level of customer service is usually great but I'm shocked at my latest experience. I ordered a TV online last week and paid for named day delivery (Saturday) as I work during the week. On Saturday afternoon around 2pm decided to call to double check the item was on it's…

Warning - EQUIFAX
I signed up for Equifax back at the end of September for a free trial. I found that Orange (now EverythingEverywhere) still had a black mark against me for something that had been sorted out back in 2004. 4 months later, after several angry emails and phone calls to Orange, I discover that since September I have been…

Debenhams claim hot feet damage shoes - Not faulty?!
I bought my daughter some boots for Christmas costing £55. After a couple of brief wears the insole in one of the boots had become completely detached exposing a paper/cardboard inner. It had become impossible to put the boots on without the insole becoming pushed forward. I took them back today and was informed by a…

RANT George Forman grills are just rubbish
We used to have a GF grill, a family sized one and gave up on it as it simply cooked too hot, the thermostatic control being pretty much non-existent (and I know what I'm talking about). Well we persevered with the thing but eventually packed it away never to be seen again... Or so I thought. Well at Xmas, Stepson and G/f…

Nosey Retailers!
I bought a pair of trousers in Long Tall Sally this afternoon ( no choice, I have very long legs and nowhere else does them long enough). I was amazed to be asked for my postcode at the till! I said no and from the stunned look on the girls face I guess that I must have been the first to refuse. To be fair she didn't push…

I'm not sure if this is the right part of the forum for this so moderators please feel free to move it if necessary. My local Morrisons store upgraded it's tills/receipt machines a few months back. Cylists without lights - disproportionately annoys me!!
I am a cyclist and it really makes me irate when I see other cyclists at night without any lights on. Especially if they have a really expensive bike - that just makes it worse. Oh you can spend £2000 on a bike but couldn't afford a tenner to make yourself seen! Or when they have all the garb on - Hi Vis top, helmet - no…

Tesco - delayed debit card.
I searched for this, couldn't find it relevant to end of 2010. I did food shopping at Tesco on December 23rd, and payed with my debit card. Payment is yet to be taken from my Co-op account. Anyone else in the same boat? It's starting to annoy me now, as it looks like this isn't a first time for Tesco, and they've been…

PCWorld - Christmas refunds
My DH bought me a Windows7 pack as part of my Christmas present (Mid November -unusually for a man, he shops early!). His heart was in the right place but I really didn't need or want this - but was concerned as I didn't think there was any chance PC World would take it back even though it was still sealed as we were well…
