New Argos Card Tactics

Just to make you all aware of 2 policy changes that argos have implemented in a bid to boost their profits at the expense of paying customers. Before Christmas I purchased a number of items that i attempted to pay for using their store card on the 12 month interest free option. I noticed that the big item was put through on the 12 month option but the others were put through seperately on the card on the standard 29.9% APR which i stopped, people need to be aware of this as it will incur large amounts of monthly interest. The second being a new policy on returns, unless what you are returning is exactly identicle to when you purchased it you have little chance of returning it - I returned a phone which was poor quality & was pulled up on the fact that it was missing a wire tieback for the phone cable - ridiculous. I'm new to the forums but hope this helps :-)

Did you purchase all your items in one transaction? I ask as the buy now pay later option is only available if you spend 95 pounds plus ( one or more items totalling that amount in one transaction).
Also items that are being returned because you have simply changed your mind have to be able to be resold in the same condition you purchased it in, so ntechnically they were correct and don't even have to refund in this instance but they do sound a little over zealous!:hello: Hiya, I'm single mom, avid moneysaver and freecycler, sometimes  but definatly0 -

There are no such new policies or changes. Before Christmas I purchased a number of items that i attempted to pay for using their store card on the 12 month interest free option. 29.9% is if you do not pay your bill on time.
Less than £95 is 59 days interest free. The cashier in store can get a supervisor to override the sale to 3/6/12 months BNPL if it a split transaction. The second being a new policy on returns, unless what you are returning is exactly identical to when you purchased it you have little chance of returning it - I returned a phone which was poor quality & was pulled up on the fact that it was missing a wire tieback for the phone cable - ridiculous.
This is not a new policy at all, this is always what the returns policy has been.
The returns policy in store, on the receipts, on the website and in the catalogue clearly states that any items returned must be unused in their original, undamaged packaging.
As you legally have no right to a return unless the item goes against the Sale of Goods Act all return policies can be administered as the companies like.
I've had some customers kick off at me in the past because I wouldn't accept returns back as they didn't have all the packaging, and I asked them if they had bought the item and found it did not have all the correct packaging would they accept it? Every single one flinched, because they wouldn't![DISCLAIMER: Any posts made by myself are my opinions and do not represent my employer]
