Move out but leave BT line active for new people?
Is it possible to cancel your BT account in a way that leaves the line active so that future tenants don't have to pay reconnection fees? I just hate the way we had to pay something like £120 connection fee when we moved in and BT didn't even need to send anyone round, so I'm just trying to save the next person the money.…

BT rental gone up
BT have had me on the Unlimited Weekend Plan for some time as it's, well free. I look at my latest bill and it's shot up to £14.74 and they have charged me 14p for the plan. I have not dialed any numbers through BT as I use 18185. This is very expensive and misleading.

BT terrible customer service & SRJ bullies
Hi, I have received about a month ago a nasty letter from SRJ Debt Recoveries claiming that I owe BT £126 in unpaid phone bills. I called them and asked what that's about and they did not have a clue, so I asked them to provide me a copy of the bill. I have received the BT bill and it dates July 2010. I called BT to get…

Primus £6.49 a month - yes or no ?
Having read about Primus in the MSE email recently I'm strongly considering moving to them from BT. ALL I want is cheap line rental - the only reason I have a landline is for internet access - which I use a lot. Call charges don't matter. Can I just check:- Will switching affect my tel number or broadband service (I pay…

Moving Phone & Broadband from Sky
Hello, I have my TV, phone and broadband with Sky and been with them 4 years plus. I mostly watch the free channels, so the extra I pay for TV was a waste. This is something I should have done years ago when my contract finished, but was just to lazy to do it. It really pees me off when I see new customers getting great…

BT, other providers and 'using' 1280
I have been told by BT that the other providers have blocked 1280 so that calls cannot be made through BT. Does anyone know if there is a way round this so that 1280 can be used?

My Fiancee and I feel it is our duty to inform the world that BT are terrible, after a £200 pound over-charge in just four months, a 6 week delay on broadband delivery (we got sick of BT lieing about delivery dates and cancelled it - Go with 02, thay have been great)over 40hours worth of calls to BT's helpline, (Which…

BT created 2 orders for me and charged me twice, how do I get my money back?
I placed an online order for landline and broadband in early Oct, BT called 2 days later to advise that the order didn't go through owing to a technical error and proceeded to set up the order on the phone. It seems that the first order did go through to the extent that BT have issued me with 2 customer account numbers and…

BT Unlimited Anytime Plan and LRS
I've just signed up to BT's Line Rental Saver, and was also considering signing up to their Unlimited Anytime Plan (which they've offered me at £3 per month). But I notice that it states: "£4.70 a month (rising to £4.90 on 3 December 2011) when signing up to a 12-month contract and paying line rental at £13.90 a month…

Granny's phone bill
My mum is 91 and has dementia but manages to live in her own home with lots of support from me. What worries me is that she phones us anything up to 15 times a night just to have some contact, which we understand. She's on for only a few minutes but her standard BT bill is becoming huge for a little old lady - the most…

We moved house, O2 lost our phone number!
I was wondering whether this is a common problem, or whether's have had experience fighting this lazy administrative error. We recently moved house. O2 provided our home phone and broadband at the old address, and we wanted to continue with them. We requested a move, and everything was handled although with an annoying two…

Urgent BT fault repair??? Please?
Hi..I'm hoping to find a friendly BT person (engineer?) to hurry up my old mum's phone fix.:D She lives in Wyke Regis Weymouth She is 89, suffered a heart attack last year and is in poor health. She's real old school and won't make a fuss but her phone has stopped working. It was reported on the 7th but BT say it will be…

Excellent Landline Deal
There is very little mention of BeThere's Landline offers here which I find very strange. BT have just put the cost of their Landline Rental up to £14.60 per month and you get very little for that other than a phone. BeThere offers 3 different Landline Rental deals, £10 a month for a basic line, £11 a month for line rental…

Primus - Martin, please stop recommending them
I signed up to Primus a few months ago and it's been a total nightmare. In that time my home phone has been non-operational for six weeks (and counting), but they will not send an engineer. They have ignored five of the six emails I have sent them, and they have also ignored a formal complaint letter that I sent a few…

Phone bill payment with BT credit card
On page two of the print-out of my phone bill it states, in small print - "We want to give you the choice of paying your bill exactly how you want to. However, BT Payment Services limited (BTPS) will charge a fee for processing your payment if you choose not to pay by Direct Debit or BT Credit Card." The implication is…

Question about using 141
I know 141 is the prefix you use when dialling if you want your number to be withheld, but is it withheld in every case? What about if you phone the Police or a bank or a benefits agency or an insurer or some other official number? Is it still withheld or do their systems over-ride the 141 and they can see the number you…

BT upfront line rental saver
Martin says in today's mailing that paying in advance for a year's BT line rental; is a good option for saving money. However, having just checked, if I do that then I lose my Anytime calling plan and as I'm a heavy daytime phone user (I work from home) I don't want to give that up. Any advice? Thanks Lynne

How long to BT take to send final bill out?
I left BT for line rental and calls nearly 2 weeks ago, and I've not received any final bill or anything from them since the switchover date. How long do they usually take to do this? Also I can still log in to their website and view my account as if nothing has changed!
