Phone bill payment with BT credit card

On page two of the print-out of my phone bill it states, in small print -
"We want to give you the choice of paying your bill exactly how you want to. However, BT Payment Services limited (BTPS) will charge a fee for processing your payment if you choose not to pay by Direct Debit or BT Credit Card."
The implication is that if you pay your bill by BT Credit card then there is no processing fee, so you get additional money off your bill by paying with a BT Credit card.
According to the call centre it is a printing error!
Anyone tried it?
