central manchester parking
Where would you recommend for parking in Manchester on a Sunday not too far from the main shopping area? I decided to park in Rusholme (an area I know) and take the bus in but ended up paying £9.20 for the round-trip (2 adults and 2 teens).

Private Parking Ticket at Comet wheelchair
Hello I am a black cabby London taxi driver. I work locally and I went to go pick up a disabled passenger inside Comet. My black cabs has doors which open wide out and a ramp falls out for the disbaled wheelchair so I parked outside comets front entrance as the other parking bays are too small for a wheelchair accessible…

incorrect date on NIP
My father recieved a letter (NIP) from West Yorkshire police today. It's a speeding offence. The date of offence in NIP states 10/10/09. Now we know the car wasn't anywhere near there on that date - it was at home. The location and time of offence, however, is correct. The offence actually occurred on 18/10/09. I've been…

Incorrect registration?
Dont know if anyone has had this before - I recieved a PCN in london and upon checking , I found that the warden has entered one digit wrong on the ticket from what my car plate is .Can I appeal on the strength of this? I find it unfair anyway , as I had parked and went to get some change in the shop for the meter.

Timeline query: Council response to PCN query
Hi I received a PCN on my car from Hounslow Council on 2.7.09. I sent an email to them the same day and received an automated reponse. I phoned them around a month after to ask the progress and was told that it was still being reviewed. I have just received a letter from them deciding not to cancel the ticket. This is…

Disputing A Driving Offence Ticket
Hi, Speaking to a friend the other day and he is a former police officer claims I should strongly dispute my ticket to avoid a £30 fine. I was in a bus lane but then went into the car lane, which the police spotted and got a ticket. Thing is people behind me and in front of me didn't get a ticket just a warning. I said…

PCN deadline
Hi Can you tell me if there is a deadline for the council to make PCNs available to pay? Basically I recieved a ticket for overstaying in a bay. I made several attempts to pay the ticket (for up to 5 or 6 days after) but it wasn't "uploaded on to their system". I then appealed saying that as I was only given 14 days to pay…

Parking fine - Disabled/Blue Badge
Hi, I wonder if you can help me out on this one. On the 1st October I parked on yellow lines where I always park when I take my disabled Grandma into the local town. Basically, because of one thing and another (stressy day) we forgot to display her Blue Badge. I'd had a gastroscopy in the morning and failed to complete it…

To all those who say PPCs are necessary
A number of posters try and justify PPCs by saying how else can owner manage parking on land - there is an alternative which doesn't involve fraud, obtaining money by menaces or PPCs lying about their powers. Just like our local Asda this retail park is using Council officers to enforce restrictions. They will be issuing…

Parking fine advice please
I'm new to this forum so you'll have to excuse me, but I need some advice. On the 3rd of October this year I purchased a used car. It was located 280 miles from me and I had arranged for a friend to take me up that morning after I had finished work (night shift the previous night). We arrived at the sellers house at…

Drove off before ticket issued N Ireland
My dad got into a bit of a barney with a warden this morning and drove off leaving the warden holding the "ticket". He had parked on a clear street but half the car was on zig-zags, as he went to a cash machine and was there for no more than a minute! He felt the warden was a bit over zealous and as I said was so angry he…

Long fight with Glasgow Parking
Hello, Hopefully someone out there can help me with this! On Easter Sunday (8th April) 2007, I parked my car near my flat. There was at least one other car parked between me and the start of some double yellow lines. The ticket folks are very zealous around where I live, so I've always known that the slightest slip would…

Reassurance Required from 'PCN Ignorers'
I know the advice for all unjust private parking invoices is to ignore, ignore, and then ignore, but repeated letters from their various related companies do make it kinda scary. Any chance of some first-hand experiences and reassurances from forum members who have followed the advice? (And who still have all their…

Clamped by PPC
A friend recently found her car clamped at one of those free out of town retail parks, which serve a whole list of retail chains (B&Q, homebase etc), the reason quoted was that she left the site, which was true, she was looking for a toilet for about 10 minutes before intending to enter the shops, unfortunately she had to…

City of Westminster PCN - Common Sense Prevails
Congratualtions to City of Westminster. One of our engineers swapped his usual van with another employee for the day, he purchased parking via his mobile phone but used his usual vans VRM and not the VRM of the van he was using. We received a PCN which I challenged stating that it was a genuine mistake etc. CoW were under…
