It's here on Old Style to provide the support we all need and to make the whole task easier and quicker. We also…

Recommend me a laundry liquid please
Now Waitrose no longer do the original non-concentrated version of their Sensitive laundry liquid, we're on the hunt for a substitute. So ... recommendations please for a laundry liquid which gets clothes clean but doesn't make them stink! I know of Ecover, but it's a bit dear. Surely somebody does a pong-free alternative?

Freecyclers, are you still receiving emails?
I've advertised something on my local Freecycle website and the item appeared there on Sunday, 15 March. Only one more item has appeared on the website on 16 March and nothing since. Looking at the email account I use for Freecycle I have had no incoming Freecycle emails since 6 March so in order to check that the account…

In light of the forthcoming isolation I have emptied my cupboard onto the worktop to see what I've got in. Embarrassingly I've got loads of pasta and rice which I didn't know I had. By porridge, I don’t mean flakes/quick cook porridge, but jumbo rolled oats - I have tried microwave and in a pan and followed the packet instructions religiously but the oats stay chewy. I have tried soaking overnight and then cooking in the morning also. Anyone got any failsafe tips please?

Looking for cheap bin liners for SMALL bins
I used to use carrier bags from the super market instead of bin liners. They're a good size for my needs (if anything, they're slightly bigger than I need), but I've stopped buying them and I'm actually starting to run out. I've had a look on ebay but the small ones that I've found are surprisingly expensive (large ones…
