Stocking up for Brexit
I guess that now is the time to do some extra shopping in case of disruption at the end of the month. We're not panicking, but we've stocked up with long life goods that we'd buy anyway, just a bit more than usual. I'd be interested to hear what other people have done/are intending?

Weekly Flylady Thread 11th March 2019
What is FLYLADY? Well, it's our version of the US flylady idea - but we work on the principle that housework is not fun, it's boring, can be time-consuming, is often thankless but, unfortunately, necessary. It's here on Old Style to provide the support we all need and to make the whole task easier and quicker. We also…

My Kenwood AT647 is broke, I can’t remove the drive shaft. The replacement for it is the kah647pl with a price tag of £74 that includes a number of attachments. Does anybody know if the AT647 attachments fit the kah647pl. I’ve carried out a search online but haven’t come up with anything Of course the most money saving way…

Trauma-free packing
Kondo fans are gonna love this! I considered posting on "In My Home" but I think this is going to get a better audience on OS. Check this out for Japanese efficiency, they have really thought hard about all aspects: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynEjnebw8LA I particularly love the furniture sock and the TV and light…

Paint for a tea tray
I’ve got an small wooden tray that is the perfect size for a small teapot and mug or cup and saucer. It’s looking a bit battered so I’m wondering about painting it. Do I need to buy a special type of paint? I’m thinking maybe a taster pot of the stuff you paint walls with would do (?)

Pork recipe suggestion needed please
Good morning All I’m defrosting a lump of pork - one 500g shoulder steak, to be precise - and I’m completely uninspired about how to cook it. Nothing in my current repertoire appeals, so I thought I’d put a shout out for recipe suggestions. It’ll need to stretch to feed four. In the fresh veg department, we have plenty of…

Cooking ahead
I'm in the fortunate position to be buying all brand new appliances for my kitchen (my apartment has no kitchen at the moment, it's just been built, I'm in Portugal) and I don't have any pots and pans. I want to "cook ahead". I work from home, so could use a slow cooker, for instance. What would you recommend, as an ideal…

Does anybody use round-up apps?
As I've previously posted, I used a round-up App (on Mozo) for three weeks and saved only £3.94? Anecdotally, I'm hearing people are saving much more. Is this true and how?

I got 2019 mindful and saved thousands
Last year I got divorced. It wasn't pretty. So I started 2019 determined to rebuild and get my act together. That meant sorting out my financial life, because now I have to fund two households. I started with a round-up app, and after three weeks had saved £3.94! Back to the drawing board. That's when I read an article…
