Good morning All
I’m defrosting a lump of pork - one 500g shoulder steak, to be precise - and I’m completely uninspired about how to cook it. Nothing in my current repertoire appeals, so I thought I’d put a shout out for recipe suggestions. It’ll need to stretch to feed four.
In the fresh veg department, we have plenty of onions, mushrooms, garlic, carrots, green peppers, potatoes and broccoli in stock. In the cupboard are tinned tomatoes and sweet corn, while in the freezer are broad beans, spinach, peas and more sweet corn. I have an extensive array of herbs and spices, and we eat “chilli hot” food.
Thanks in advance.

Make a sauce with onions, garlic, pepper, tinned tomatoes, stock, tablespoon of Worcester sauce, tablespoon soy sauce, bit of sugar preferably brown.
Slice shoulder put in oven or slow cooker, pour over sauce, bake till pork well done and tender. Serve with salad and nice bread
OR cube shoulder, brown it, fry onion, spices, garlic, add meat and stock, and make curry.0 -
Pulled pork. Easy to do in the slow cooker.
This can also be made into pulled pork Burgers.
Or cook it in cider and mustard sauce.0 -
Thanks Jill and Bouicca for your responses. I think I might try pork in a mustard sauce.
