This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning everyone
Not much happening here today. If I feel up to it, and it isn’t raining too much I may talk a slow walk up to the post office to post back something I ordered online that doesn’t fit.
While I’m out I will call into the pharmacy and see if my prescription is ready. I usually collect it on a Thursday so they may not have made it up yet, and I need to get a birthday card for neighbour at some point in the next month so will probably get that while I think of it.
Thank you for your suggestion for window cleaning Cranky. It looks good, but I can’t really afford it right now, so I’m just going to ignore them for now. As JackieO said, that sort of thing can wait.
I’m another one who is missing those who are not posting.
Have a good a day everyone whatever you are doing.0 -
Good morning, though it isn't very good, it is hissing down.
I have given up on trying to sleep.
Today I'm going to the chemist for cystitis medicine as cranberry juice hasn't done a thing. I didn't go to the cinema because I'd have needed the loo at least three times.
That's about all really.
Hope everyone has as good a day as possible.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Good morning
Lying in in a very comfy bed all warm and cosy watching come dine with me ...luxuryI could have had a lie in this morning but my brain had other ideas I dont mind its just nice not to be rushing like a headless chicken for a change.
aod sympathy on the cystitis
Yesterdays complex travel plans actually worked out by the skin of my teeth. I left Huddersfield with just enough time plus a bit of slack to get home then got stuck in a road closure leading to the motorway so used up all the slack and a bit more. Anyway made it and managed to get the trains to Cardiff.
Nanny Fortunately after living in Dinas Caerdydd for 4 years I gained dual citizenship
Hotel is lovely overlooking Cardiff bay although it has persisted down with rain since I got here. Had a chicken curry for grub last night but had to send it back as the chicken was cold in the middleclearly and been done in the popty ping so I ate the nan and left the rest.
Shower soon when I can be bothered then a leisurely breakfast...I could get used to this  Anyway course is this afternoon then its back home to reality.
Hope everyone has a lovely day

Morning All
It's really wet and windy out this morning but on the plus side I slept like a baby, feel great this morning.
I'll have to have a bath for the next few days, I've taken the sealant off the shower so will have to wait a few days for it to be totally dry before I make a mess of putting it back on!
Work yesterday was really busy which was good, we're a man down now the useless one has left, doesn't make a difference to the work load as he didn't do anything, but visits to the office by children take up a lot of time.
Off for a massage after work, looking forward to that, also getting my eyebrows done. A little pampering helps lift the spirits!
Hugs to you and your DM Gers.
Hope you feel better soon AOD.
Hope all our missing friends return soon, you are all missed.
Happy Wednesday, take care. XX0 -
Morning everyone
Hollyharvey - thanks for starting us off x
Hugs to those that want/need one x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
DH up and getting ready for work, DS1 still in his pit and I'm showered, dressed and just finished my porridge.
Weather is awful, it's been raining steadily since last night and doesn't look like stopping anytime soon. Laying water everywhere too. It's not too cold though.
Dinner last night was roasted chicken with pasta in a creamy mushroom sauce and baked stuffed mushrooms. I remembered to get the pork steaks out to defrost so I'll serve them tonight with mash, veg and gravy.
Work yesterday was reasonably either busy or dead - not sure what today will bring, but my last full working day this week, although I have training tomorrow but I'm then off until Monday.
Seriously impressed with the Passport service, DH's passport arrived yesterday that was a week from application to receiving the new passport. I'm going to do mine the same way over the next few days.
Keep safe and well x

Running a bit late so this will be short and sweet, raining here and set in for the day I think.

Morning. I am up early as I have a funeral today and it’s an early one. I do need new things ironed a pair of trousers on Sunday I went to put them on and they are far to big so I had to find some more in a hurry this morning. My dark coat is also to big but will have to do for today
I am going after to fat club and I will take a change of clothes and go to the gym then go on to work but I am free after I hope it does not rain today it looks like it will
Have a good day everyone. I hope some posters come back I really enjoy reading about your lives0 -
Morning folks.
Nasty weather is back, I can hear high winds again.
Great pics HH, the new boat looks really spacious and comfortable.
Nelski - can't beat a good hotel bed!
Yesterday I got through a few jobs - car tax etc. All fiddly things but nothing difficult. A present arrived from a friend, what was unusual was that the gift card was impregnated with wildflower seeds. It can be planted in the garden so decomposing and growing. I'll be intrigued to see if the seeds actually germinate.
I'm off to Glasgow this morning, I've got a couple of things to return to shops in town and then collect DM's new handmixer too. She's in need of TLC after yesterday.
Thanks to victoriajj for the info about the sunflower stickers. I'll bear it in mind and try to not to fully affix them.
Now, I wish everyone a peaceful and happy Wednesday.0 -
Morning everyone,
Reporting to you live from my spare bedroom, otherwise known as my office for the day. I've got a guy coming to replace my boiler which meant I had to be in the house for it, so thankfully I can work from home. Still sticking to my usual routine; up at the normal time, coffee get the laptop open and catch up etc. Still feels weird.
Not much else to report.
AoD - Hope you feel better soon.
Hester - The boat looks lovely! I love the colour/shade of the wood and it's absolutely spotless!!0
