Good morning everyone, it's raining here but not particularly cold.
AOD, hope you get something that works for your cystitis, horrible isn't it.
Gers, that flower seed gift card sounds nice, I've never seen those before.
Hester, I'm going to have a look at your new boat, I do read your blog
OL, your poor BIL. he must have died instantly
Holly, I bought one of those K*rcher window things, after borrowing my neighbours'. If you can afford one in the future, buy one - I bought the basic one, they are really good, and it's so quick.
Hope you have a safe journey home Nelski.
Yesterday went as planned.
Today, well, I was going to go to the monthly talk at U3A, but I'm not really interested in American Jazz. which is what it's about.
There's plenty to do here - I did the landing curtains with that trim I bought and they look good, so that's a job jobbed, but there's always something in the house that needs doing.
I've even done some of my ironing!!
Hope you all have good days
Take care folks0 -
Hester, congratulations - you won't know what to do with all that space!
Bozwood, I hope the funeral goes as well as it can.
Fingers crossed, Steve seems much better than last time on the chemotherapy, I hope it continues.
I want to finish the quilting on the baby quilt I'm doing - I hope the recipient likes it. I'm champing at the bit to get on with the next project now.
I'm feeling very blobbish but having difficulty stopping my chocolate habit. I know it's a comfort thing but also I feel cross with myself that I know that and still eat the stuff. Any tips welcome.0 -
Good morning everyone :hello:
I can hear the rain outside but the blinds are still shut so it feels all cozy in here. Steve and Phoebe have left for work and Lilly and Lee are getting ready for college so I will be here all on my lonesome. I don't mind really, I have a couple of new magazines to read and a card to write to my friend as she has been sectioned as she just wasn't getting any better the poor thing.
I had a busy day yesterday with three different visitors. It was very welcome to see them all too. Today is my grand daughter's 11th birthday. Where does the time go? It doesn't seem that long ago I was holding her in the hospital after she had been born. Anyway, she has grown up to be such a cutie and I hope she will love her presents from us.
Don't know what to have for dinner tonight, I will raid the freezer later. I am going to have a jacket potato at lunch time so that will do me. I am a bit fed up of always being the one to plan all the meals, organize the shopping etc etc. It would be nice if someone else would volunteer just for a week.
I hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
Morning all, another blurry morning...The cat left a present in the kitchen this morning, the OH found it, had to clean it up [since I was still in bed struggling to wake up] I could hear him retching from up there...He did say i should have chucked him out last night but as I had to clean up a mess on Sunday from him not chucking him out Saturday night, I felt we were even stevens...definitely have to get a litter tray...or pray for no rain....
I am going to ventrue to the hospital today to take back some forms with consent for treatment, forms for the cancer nurse to fill in and have some blood taken. Probably not until twelve ish though, need to keep waking up and shower.
Picked up a nice box on wheels last night from Freecycle, needs a sand and a varnish but will be lovely as a mobile coffee table with storage for winter throws. It's quite light too so managed to carry it by myself.
I had pancakes last night, OH doesn't seem fond of them but there's batter left, so I might have them for breakfast. When I first learned how to make the thick flufyf american pancakes, i think I made them about four times a week...with maple syrup...I didn't eat anything else but pancakes, they were so nice...Waistline precludes that idea now though so only bog standard panckaes last night with lemon and sugar....
Enjoy the pampering camelot. Look at you all speaking Welsh Nelski! I can manage rydwi'n hoffi coffi and maybe a bore da. Enjoy your day in Welsh Wales, arrive home safe..AOD, hope your cystitis goes quick! Gers, it's still a shoch even if you know it's coming, pass on my good wishes to her even if she doesn't know meglad steve is better this time snoozer. dumpling, glad you had proper visitors not nightmare ones ...
Wotcha absentees and non posting peeps...Maybe it's good to take a break and then come back fresh....

Morning everyone, I'm new here but loving this subforum so far. Need to get a few bits for dinner (making sweet chilli vegan 'chicken') and then a little bit of housework to create a peaceful space for the afternoon/evening as it's an unexpected day off and I want some chill time. Probably a bubble bath too! :grinheart
Hope you all have a lovely Wednesday!0 -
Hello all
Well it hasn't stopped raining here since yesterday teatime. I think storm Freya decided to do a 180 and come back with a vengeance !
We had to go out this morning and we got soaked ! First to Mr Fix It's surgery for his script, then to the chemist to get it filled, then to the meat van as it's on the way home. Called in to a one-stop-shop for bread, milk and sausages, then round to my surgery to collect Dad's script. Finally dropped Dad's script into the village chemist for pick up tomorrow or Friday.
I haven't been into the village shops ( a street really ) for a while as the parking is atrocious, even more so now as they have demolished the old village school to build a new sheltered housing complex so there are vans and lorries up on pavements . However I noticed that a new ATM has popped up ( we lost our only bank a few years ago ) and now there's a new cs :j so all is not lost.
Dad has been invited to tea, but he may not come as we are due thunderstorms and heavy rain. We will have bacon, egg, sausage and black pudding etc.
I had a weigh in yesterday and I've lost a total of 6lbs :j. Slow progress but going in the right direction.
Gers I'm sorry about your DM's diagnosis. Something she didn't need on top of her other stuff, but at least now you know you are making the right decision for your retirement. Please give her a gentle hug from me.
Nelski you kept that quiet ! Fancy you being an honorary welshie :rotfl:. BTW you were only about 30 miles away from me
AOD I hope you can get some relief soon.
Hester wow ! Your new boat looks impressive. I hope things go ok with the purchase and you and CHS enjoy her for many years to come.
Snoozer sorry I can't help with the choc habit as I too am an addict and have to ration myself
Whatkatysaved :hello:Welcome to the asylum
Signing off now as Mr Fix It is on the phone reminiscing with his old Colonel, they'll be there for hours and I can only take so much of who's still alive or dead :rotfl:
Take care all

Hi. The funeral went well I am glad I went Jack was a100 which is a great age to get to. I wish I had met him when he was younger. I then went to fat club I lost a pound and so I got my six stone award which I am very pleased with. I also was the greatest looser for my group so that was a surprise have a good day0

I've just sepnt 3 hours on the phone to various departments, being put on hold, but finally sorted by a nice cockney geezer.
I am reeally beginning to dislike Handels water music now though.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Made it to Glasgow despite the awful weather which has now passed over.
I returned a top to M&S. and bought a down jacket instead. It's lovely and light and will keep me warm. I also returned the jacket I bought for DM last week, she'd rather wear the 20 year old one that's miles too big for her and which makes her look like a bag lady. :rotfl:
Now that I'm with DM she's got me looking through boxes of papers to sort out 'keep' and 'chuck'. One of the little pieces of paper was a receipt dated 1957 from when my dear Dad bought my DM a Pfaff sewing machine. It cost £47 5s 6d and she still has it! Now that's proper MSE.
Off to plough through more boxes.0
