Old Style Daily Tuesday 5th March 2019

Options
This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

    Morning everyone

If anyone comes across my get up and go on their travels could they please send it back to me. Yesterday I walked slowly to the larger supermarket, bought the flask I wanted and had to get the bus back. I think that I am slowly regaining my strength and I’m sure that by the summer I will be ok and there are many people worse off than me. It’s just a bit frustrating right now though.

I need to put the recycling out in a minute. I usually do it the night before but forgot last night and I don’t want it hanging around for another two weeks.

The window cleaner came yesterday and at first I thought he hadn’t done a very good job on the back windows, and then realised that the marks are on the inside so I may tackle one of them today. I don’t like cleaning windows it is one of my pet hates along with ironing.

Have a good a day everyone whatever you are doing.

Morning Holly and all to come

Sounds like you are trying to run before you can walk Holly your body will tell you when its ready to tackle more and in the meantime listen to it and relax. Nobody cares about your windows trust me

Speky A lick and a promise is as little cleaning as I can get away with and still be respectable .

Another mad day today I have a half day course in Yorkshire then rush back home, cab to the station and a train to Cardiff. I wont lie I will be glad when this week is done. Food wise no idea haven't even got car butties

Can't claim any old style at all today or come to think of it anything remotely interesting.

    Have a good day all

Good morning and thank you for starting today's thread Hollyharvey.

I can't often think of any OS things I've done specifically either but yesterday I decided that one pair of pj bottoms were ready to retire - they are more holey than even I can countenance. I have washed them and I'm going to cut the legs up for dusting cloths.

I'm going to the cinema early evening and then home to make pancakes for my small family. I suggested that I made them up some batter and they do the actual making themselves and you would have thought that I'd suggested that they eat raw beetles. OH does much more cooking than me but they like pancakes being made by me, I think because I don't like them so can just crack on with a battery production line, no horrible waiting while I eat one. That really would be terrible wouldn't it.

I have no interesting news so will just wish everyone a happy day, thinking of those of us who are not posting at present.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

    Morning All

I woke up at 4 for a pit stop, couldn't get back to sleep although I did try! I wish I could say I have done something useful this morning but I haven't!

I had someone round to look at the garden yesterday, he seemed really knowledgeable and I think he would be really good but I got an email quote from him this morning - £11500. Sadly he won't be doing the work! Hopefully someone else is coming later today, we'll see what he has to say.

Specky - DD and BF are vegan, I did join them for about 6 months but as I can't eat tofu (it's the texture) and too many beans upset my stomach, I've given up. I'll stick to being veggie until something takes my fancy!
dp1 - So pleased to hear the baby is doing well.

Thinking of all those with troubles and missing those not posting.

Right, the shower is calling then I'll be off for a swim, it was good to get back yesterday.

    Enjoy Tuesday. Take care. XX

    Morning everyone

Hollyharvey - thanks for starting us off x

Hugs to those that want/need one x

Happy birthday to those with a birthday x

Now light, blustery wind seems to have died down, but we're forecast rain today.

DH up and getting ready for work, DS1 still in his pit, as he's on annual leave this week, and I'm showered, dressed and just finished my breakfast of porridge.

Dinner last night was fish, chips/jacket potato, beans/veg for the menfolk, I had baked fish, jacket potato and veg. I forgot to get the meat out to defrost last night, but have a chicken in the fridge so will cook that for tonight's dinner, will decide whether to serve with it later.

Yesterday work was steady although it did ease off into the afternoon, we'll see how today goes.

    Keep safe and well x

Missing those not posting at the moment.

Poppy, you are in my thoughts.

Went to our local garden centre yesterday, it was lovely just to wonder around all the beautiful flowers and plants, and we had coffee.

Chaps coming to cut he hedge and trees tomorrow, hopefully it will make the garden look much tidier.

    Take care all

    Morning everyone.

I'm enjoying a few more minutes in bed before facing my day. There's just a few chores to get through before I can relax.

Yesterday I received six rosemary plants in 9cm pots which I need to do something with. It's too early to plant them outside so I'll need to find a space in the little barn for them. Once the frosts have passed they're going into the front garden. I've bought them to supply my lovely neighbour and wife with cooking supplies. He's a chef and she's a grower but their place up the hill can't grow rosemary.

I'm still smiling about getting my car excess back after seven months and the claim costs being settled by the other party.

Now, must start my day. Thoughts are with all our missing friends here, especially poppy.

I wish everyone a happy Tuesday.

Morning everyone and thanks for the start Holly, you have done amazingly well!

No pancakes for us today as we are both doing the BSD, a bit of weight has crept on over the winter so time to shed it now before it brings its pals to the party :D
I have a stock shop delivery this morning and then will go to get a much needed haircut this afternoon, will take the opportunity to pop into Bo*ts for a few bits as well, other than that no other plans.
Another one who is missing our friends x

Take care all poorlies, have a good day folks x
