Morning everyone,
A nice and bright day here, although it's wet underfoot.
Yesterday was my usual Monday evening. Stayed late in work > went to the gym > went to yoga > home and bed. Decided to fast, Monday lunch till Tuesday lunch as well. Partly because I don't really have time to cook up a big meal at 10pm, nor would I be in the mood for eating it. Not hungry so far.
Tonight I don't have plans although I may visit the gym after work again - in fact, I will visit the gym after work today! Tonight I'm trying another new recipe, pea and broad bean shakshuka. Not meat involved, which isn't like me, but it's full of ingredients I do like and it's healthy.
This morning I've budgeted for the month ahead although I know for a fact is going to be loose. In this order I have; 6 of my mates travelling down to spend the weekend at mine (money on 2 nights out), a work trip to London (expenses paid but I'll need to fork out firstly), I then fly to Basel (work trip again) and then come home to my parents visiting for the weekend (money spent on lunch/dinner no doubt). I've tried to account for the visitors but as ever, it'll no doubt end up costing way more than I had hoped/planned. Nonetheless, I don't grudge it, as I appreciate them coming down to visit.
Hope everyone has a good day.0 -
when the chemo starts ,if your getting some H/Harvey you may be given some steroids and they were brilliant for me when I was on the first week of the three week cycle. I would dash around like a mad thing cleaning everything in sight, then as the second (middle week) started I would slow down somewhat and by the third week I was completely almost at a halt then I would go for my next lot of chemo and it would start again:) I was even cleaning my DDs windows:) But you have to regulate yourself and you body tells you what you can do and when to rest as its healing, so when your tired just stop, sit down, feet up and do nothing .
The house will still be there next year and when you are fighting fit you can do it In the scheme of things getting better is your first priority, mucky windows aren't.
And good morning to the rest of youbright and sunny here in north Kent today although a bit nippy, I'm of to the hairdressers this morning to get sheared as I am looking a bit like a wooly mammoth
Then I will probably nip to Dobbies for the U3A coffee morning. Quiz night tonight so Tuesdays are always busy days for me
No shopping to buy though, and my coffee is a voucher from Dobbies that I get two freebies every month with my loyalty card, good value at £10.00 per year as coffees are £3.00 a pop.
Hope everyone is fine and <hugs >>to those who are feeling down or poorly
Onwards and upwards chums

Holly - what everybody else said - the windows aren't going anywhere.
Yesterday was a long day at the hospital. They added a new drug to the regime which they administer very slowly in case of side effects. It took 4 hours just for that one and then there was another one as well. We were there from 9 till 5 but luckily no side effects and he is a lot better than last time so hopefully that will continue. Back this afternoon but only for an hour or so.
I need to get the food budget under control because we were way over last month. It was a result of Steve being so ill and all the hospital visits. I ended up buying a lot of convenience foods and cakes and biscuits because he was ravenous and I didn't have the time or energy to make them.0 -
Morning all...I'm sitting surrounded by paperwork I have to fill in and am just feeling a bit overhwhelmed by it. Ah well, I'll make a start and see what happens...
Nothing planned today, I do have the change jar to count, and I have to go to the bank to get some bags for it, so that's one job. And it's time to count the £2 pound coins as well...
Cat is in alseep upstiars and a second cup of tea is beckoning.
I got a couple of pots of hyacinths for a couple of friends but do to illness was only able to give one of them away, so the other one is on my windowsill, I've never had them in the house before, they have a really strong scent don't they?
Holly, take it easy, completely get the no energy thing and total lack of oomph, I'm shattered today after walking to the SM and back yesterday when I was waiting for my car to be made safe...Nelski, hope the travel connections are made, and what?! no car breakfast? snoozer hop he's doing OK today.
Wotcha people who aren't well and who aren't posting...
timorous Tuesday.....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -

Holly what about getting a cleaner? Maybe Macmillan could help?
Have a good day folks. Keep warm. Hugs to poorlies and worried."It's hard to be a diamond in a rhinestone world"0 -
Morning all,
I've nothing much to report either really, same old same old sorryI did go for a longer walk than usual because I went out later to avoid the usual coven of dogwalkers who stand on the path in the park talking and let the dogs run wild and dont seem to notice when they need to pick up after their pooch .Anyway I managed to get past where they usually gather to get to the back of the hill and walk the long way round. Last year we had to restrict the length of walks due to Ly1as dodgy leg and seem to have got out of the habit even though she seems fine now.I did get rained on but its sunny and windy now.
Lainey I started the BSD again yesterday, well more like the fast 800 but am using some of the meal ideas out of BSD and fast books.I made myself a cod dish yesterday with tomatoes and cavolo nero, enough for lunch today too,but I've had complaints about the fishy smell from the menfolk ever since
Auntie was fine yesterday, her DD had travelled up from Bristol to see her at the weekend and was just about to set off back, and said 'oh good,I'm not leaving you on your own'.We had a nice hour chatting and I took her some magazines.
Tonight I shall do something with the weekends leftover chicken for tea ( gammon for DS who doesnt eat it) and hope the fishy pong from my lunch has gone by the time they get home
Hugs to our poorly friends and those not posting xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Morning all,
It's gone very quiet on the thread of late. Lots of MIA's but I wish you all well
The sun is shining but the grey rain clouds are around the corner, lurking.
This morning I got Mr Fix It to put the day bed back to "day" position and I've tidied the spare room..... again . I'm sure there's a naughty elf that un-tidies it when my back is turned .
Todays tasks will be fill the DW after lunch and get that going and then a general pottering/tidying. There is not enough in the laundry basket for a full wash so I'll wait a bit longer. I may clean out the sauces/ oil etc cupboard and renew the paper this afternoon. How exciting is that !!!
I have no idea what to do for tea tonight, I seem to have lost my mojo for cooking. Normally I am reasonably organised, but not lately as it's been all last minute decisions. I shall have to give myself a good talking to
Holly I fully embrace the mantra of "listen to your body", you have no idea what battles are going on inside you and it sounds like your body is telling you to slow down. I'm always telling Mr Fix It too when he's having a bad day ( he's having a meh day today ). The windows can wait ( you should see mine  ) as they are only "things" and you and your health is much more important. Gentle hugs coming your way xx
Nelski and Mr Gintot is everyone descending on Cardiff today ? Hope you've had your jabs and the old passports are up to date :rotfl:
Snoozer I'm with you on getting the food budget under control. I hope Steve has no bad side effects this time.
Camelot blimey £11,500 .
Right, another coffee calls then I'm going to sort out that cupboard !
Take care and hugs to anyone who is in need today.
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
All that posting about windows must have sent messages to my 'special' window-cleaner, the one who does the inside too! He suddenly rang up asking if he could come in half an hour - yes. So I whizzed round clearing the window ledges, they are very wide and so get accumulations of books etc. He's busy now, once he's done I WILL cull the paperbacks.
I've done some online performance review stuff (eventually), I've trudged through some emails and emptied the dishwasher. Oh, I checked my lottery ticket and have won £30.00. :j It's very rarely I buy a ticket , I found a free lucky dip one lingering in a drawer the other day and decided to use it - bingo! Is my luck on the up??
There's a few more pieces of paper to scan. If the rain holds off I may venture into the back garden to start the burning off though the forecast is awful for this afternoon.
I've found my old laptop hiding in the glove box and am hoping to give it to my postie who is good with hardware. However, I don't think it's even going to charge, it's been plugged in for a couple of hours now and not even a twinkle, glimmer or wink from it.Perhaps I need to be a little more patient and positive.:rotfl:
Time to make the bloke a cup of tea.0 -
I'm sort of MIA nanny but I assume you're not talking about me
I'm busy over on the weight loss thread and have also been planting seeds and decorating. I painted the hall, stairs and landing which I did have planned for the back end of 2017 until I fell down the stairs and hurt my leg so badly. I was a bit scared of standing on the stairs to paint but we all have our own mountains to climb and I'm happy to report that I have conquered one of mine.
I'm on here reading because I've grounded myself again due to a pulled calf muscle so no running and not so much walking or activity in the hopes that it heals quickly. The real reason that I'm posting is the stuff about window cleaning. I hated it too and was never any good at it but then I bought one of those Karcher rechargeable window cleaning thingies (it looks like a mini vacuum cleaner but with a squeegee on the end). I did wonder if it was going to be worth the money......and it is. Every single penny. It's that good that two of my friends bought one too. I squirt glass cleaner on the windows and the machine sucks the dirt and window cleaner into a bottle that you empty when you're finished. My huge front windows are done in a fraction of the time that it was taking and much more often than I used to do them tooI have arthritis in my hands and this makes a job that I used to hate so, so much easier. I hope I've helped someone with this info.
Take care all of you0 -
Thanks Cranky, I just had a look at them or prices and they're ten pounds cheaper on wowcher than anywhere else I've found so far. what a good idea...It may be a present for the house out of the dwindling birthday money...:)Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
