Never even tasted goose before let alone cooked one. Just thought I'd try one this year as they were so cheap in lidls I've googled and some say joint it and start the legs off first, others just cook whole. Some say rare, some say well done So any seasoned goose eaters, want to share your tried and tested way?

Please help me kick the processed food habit
I live on my own and can't seem to get round to cooking properly for myself. Believe me I have tried. I was talking to my sister in law tonight about it and she has helped me to see that being on my own doesn't always mean wasting fresh veg and it doesn't always mean that things take longer or more effort to cook. I have a…

Refreezing cakes, scones and pastries
Is it safe to refreeze surplus items like fruit cake, scones or other pastries which have been stored in the freezer but proved to be surplus to needs for a particular occasion? 0bviously one wouldn't refreeze items like fish, meat or chicken but I wonder if cakes are lower risk biologically from a bacterial point of view.

Washer-dryers versus standard w. machines - any views?
My useless Zanussi has gone phhttt after just four years in service and I'm looking for a replacement. The thing is that I'm getting fed up with the difficult drying conditions we get during winter and this is set to get worse with global warming. I haven't the space for a tumbler dryer but am wondering whether a washer…
