School cardigan with paint
So annoyed with DGD's school. Allowing a 7 yr old to paint a bird box with gloss paint is asking for trouble. She got all over her hands and transferred to red school cardigan - all over front and sleeves. Even worse it's from a school supplier with a badge and was being worn for only the third day. It was being done…

de moulding a bathroom
We live in a rented accommodation. We have a bathroom with poor ventilation, despite having an extractor fan black mold tends to grow on the tiles and grouting. I have tried several methods of removing it, the only thing that seems to work is bleach. The trouble is using bleach gives me and my daughter horrible headaches.…

Have you got a smart meter? Well look out
I have copied this from a newsletter I received from the consumer action group today. There was bound to be a sting in the tail ``Smart meter rip-off We're told that smart meters will let you manage your energy use, save money and reduce emissions and bring an end to estimated billing. But it seems that the energy giants…

Slow cooker
A year or so ago I bought myself a Morphy Richards slow cooker. With the weather turning cold I got it out today and made a beef casserole. It's been in several hours on low. When I tasted it I remembered why I don't use it much. The gravy/sauce has an odd taste, difficult to describe but sort of metallic/rancid. It can't…

Hi Folks Does anyone know where I can get some reasonably priced sugar free biscuits for my 89 year old aunty? She is diabetic and I know lower sugar should be ok in moderation but she is adamant that she wants sugar free and frankly I'm not arguing she is quite formidable! Thanks svc

Can I freeze this cake?
I made this cake yesterday minus the peanuts - layers of cake, ganache, salted caramel sauce. It's completely gorgeous but very rich, so we have three quarters left over. I know ganache will freeze well, and I know the cake will be fine, but I don't know about the salted caramel sauce. Has anyone frozen a cake like this?…

Vacuum belt keeps coming off, anyway to hold it in place.
The one it came with was wider but not as thick so only lasted till it rolled over a wire and burned out. replacements are better quality but as they are not as wide they keep falling off whenever I lift the vacuum when in use. I assume I need something to stop if falling off the gap where it hooks onto?
