Getting my Old Style mojo back
I haven't been on MSE for some months now, I used to post on the a thread called last time 'Help I've lost my old style ways' but I cant seem to find it. It was a great haven and wonderful source of support and knowledge, we were doing it tough at the beginning of the year with a huge drop in Hubbys hours BUT I am back at…

Lessons from Madame Chic: the 10-item capsule wardrobe
Inspired by a thread on another board, I thought I would share the love from Madame Chic (a v recent holiday read from a chazzer :) ). The principles, in brief: - select just a few pieces from your wardrobe (the suggestion is 10, but that does not include occasion-wear, coats and accessories) - wear your good stuff all the…

Was going to make a pie or crumble but despite not cooking it for that long the apple has gone mushy, though the blackberry still seem to have some firmness. Will it matter for a pie or is there anything else I could make it into? Also there are another…

What cleaning products do you buy your housekeeper ?
Happy Sunday all, I tend to purchase my housekeeper a brand of cleaning product called "Mr Muscle", I have never really thought about it, but some of these bottles are costing a fortune, is there a less expensive (but equally as good) option for my purchases?

Let's Get Organised.
This morning I read a good quote that 'A Sunday well spent leads to a week of content' and instantly I realised I need this is my life today and every other day in fact. Everything always seems so manic, disorganised and out of control and my yearning for a simple life seems so far away. But enough is enough. Today is the…

What to do with fennel?
Has anyone got any tried and trusted recipes for using fennel? Due to problems with digestion, I can't have anything containing meat, cheese, cream, pasta or bread products. I've thought of soup and will use one of them for that but wondered what I could use the other one for :)

Can anybody recommend an upholstery steam cleaner?
We have 2 ivory coloured sofas which, with hindsight, was a stupid choice considering we look after our 3 DGD regularly! The covers are not removable to wash and I get fed up of trying to keep throws in place. The sofas are now looking a bit grubby and I have been looking round for a steam cleaner to try and spruce them up…
