Can anybody recommend an upholstery steam cleaner?

We have 2 ivory coloured sofas which, with hindsight, was a stupid choice considering we look after our 3 DGD regularly! The covers are not removable to wash and I get fed up of trying to keep throws in place. The sofas are now looking a bit grubby and I have been looking round for a steam cleaner to try and spruce them up a bit. I am not having any luck finding one. I don't want an upright with loads of different attachments, I just want a ready assembled and ready to use upholstery model. Can anybody recommend one?

I have a Vaporetto which is brilliant on kitchens. I did try it on a stubborn stain on an easy chair, but seems to have 'baked' it in.

For soft furniture I recommend a Vax with upholstery tool. Don't forget to fill the machine up with plain water to rinse, or your items will feel sticky.

I'd recommend that you don't bother. Steam cleaners seem to work wonders in TV advertisements only.
  • I would use a dry foam carpet cleaner, that is what the professional cleaning companies do.

Steam cleaners can shrink fabric, destroy laminate floors and set stains.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
