free firewood
Just a note to remind any coastal dwellers that there's loads of driftwood on the beaches after the recent storms. We went and got a good load this morning - it will be dry in time for next winter's fires. I love a free fire.

Cookware - hob to halogen?
I'm after something shallow with no handles or a detachable handle that can sit on the hob to part cook then go into a halogen oven. Is there such a thing? I know you can get hob to oven casseroles and suchlike but these all have handles and/or are too big and wouldn't fit in. Anyone got any suggestions? The Halogen oven…

How can I tell when liver is cooked (to avoid food poisoning)?
Hope this is the right place to post this. :) I just tried to cook liver, for the first time ever. I have health problems and I'm not well enough to stand at a stove so I put it in a casserole dish in the oven. I'd read that you have to make sure with a meat thermometer that it has reached 160 degrees. I baked it at 180…

I goggled and saw lots of recipes using millet as a rice substitute but…
