Learning to be frugal with food
I'm on a mission to be as frugal as possible. We have a lot of debt to pay off & have finally come around and realised we need to face this head on. Part of this is to be more savvy with our food. We were just sitting discussing about going to the supermarket and picking up some food for dinner today. However, we have a…

How do I freeze.....
I would like some help with freezing soup as in what to store it in, in order to freeze it. I will not use plastic of any sort, either plastic bags or plastic containers. That is very important. Water expands when frozen so how can soup be frozen without breaking a container? I need to store quite large quantities of…

Pirate Cake advice please!
Hi Me and my big mouth! While shopping, I saw some cute pirate edible cake decorations (2 pirates and a treasure chest) and jokingly said to OH that I was tempted to make a pirate ship cake instead of the more usual Santa - Snowmen that most people have at Christmas. He loved the idea so we bought them. Now I'm thinking…

Rescuing alcohol-free xmas cake
I didn't wrap it well enough and it has dried out quite a bit! Other than using it as a door-stop, how do I rescue it before I marzipan it? I am hoping to trim off the hard exterior as I need to shape the cake anyway, but was wondering if I could feed it with anything non-alcoholic?

Hi All, I think you may be the best group of people to ask this question of - apologies if I'm in the wrong place. Afternoon all, hope you are all staying safe in this weather  I'm looking to get myself a magazine subscription, my dad suggested it as a Christmas present to me from him. Crispy duck
Hi, I'm defrosting some crispy duck legs from the freezer and the instructions say to cook on a wire rack over a roasting tray, well I don't have a wire rack any ideas what I can do instead? Can I just cook it in a roasting tray without the rack and it just won't be as crispy, lol.
