This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

So sorry to have worried you all. Beginning to feel more at peace - I know I can't change things and I just have to accept.
Thank you for thinking of me and sending me good vibes - I am sure they have worked and to Donny for keeping in touch.
My usual thanks to all of you who donate blood - makes me feel human xxxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Morning all.
After tending to my poorly DH and Ds allday Monday, the tummy bug finally caught me in the early hours of Tuesday morningI seem to have shifted it now so normal order shall resume in the house.
My list for today is, Hoover all through house, ironing, sort nxt weeks menu plan out, make some pizzas for the freezer and do one load of washing.
Jacket potatos for our tea tonight, something plain and simple cos dh's tum is still a little delicate.
Hope everyone has a lovely Friday... ((hugs)) to those that need them xG.C July £21.09/£1000 -
Morning all
TFI Friday, I'm knackered, DGD to gym tonight then home, out to collect hubby at 8 then home to bed, no doubt an early start on Saturday making cakes with DGD. She's been fretting about Christmas as her Daddy wants a meat slicer & she's worried Santa will forget, fortunately Santa is organised & has the slicer in the spare room with all the other gifts!
Visitors for lunch on Sunday possibly, if they bother to turn up!
Fish fed, a cuppa for me & hubby & porridge for me.
Molly, take care of yourself, I hope the transfusion helps.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -
Morning everyone
Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x
Still dark, blustery, and cold. Will be heading out shortly to try to do the normal Friday jobs - but not sure how bad the flooding is and exactly where has been effected. High tide is around 8am - we could be at risk again apparently. Have seen some photos of other areas on the coast that were at risk not too far from here and they have been hit badly.
Dinner last night was spag bol, tonight will be something quick and easy that doesn't take too much prep or cooking!
Have a good Friday everyone x
Keep safe and well x

Morning everyone. It's been quite some time since I posted in here, but I have been reading!
Had a very strange week. Went into work on Tuesday to be told my temporary promotion has been finished (not totally sure of the reasons why) and I could either work until the end of next week or finish before that. So I left straight away, had Tuesday and Wednesday off work at home and then started back at my old job yesterday! I had been there for 7 years before I moved offices for the temp promotion, so it was lovely to be back and see some old friends. If I'm honest I'm looking forward to a bit of a break - being a manager was great, but very hard work! Now I can have my planned time off for Christmas and my birthday without worrying what workload I am going back to!
It's a big drop in pay, but it's a lot closer to home, and BF works in the same office so it will cost less for travelling. Plus the unsocial hours side of it is a lot less than before!
Other than that, not a huge amount has been going on. Put our Christmas decorations up this week so our house is looking lovely :-) we went to Nottingham at the weekend to see a band which was great, and on the 14th of this month we are off to Sheffield to see Black Sabbath! Can't wait!!!
A friend asked me if I could crochet a little blanket and pillowcase for a dolls cradle she has bought her little girl for Christmas, and I got that done in a week. It's so cute! Her husband is in a band with my BF so he can collect it next time he is round here.
The weather here on the north east coast was absolutely dreadful yesterday. It looks very icy outside this morning. I hope everyone in the affected areas stay safe and warm.the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j0 -
