    Hi all

Sorry for not posting yesterday, though I did skim-read most of the thread. It was Mr LW's birthday, and he'd taken his final day's Annual Leave for this year, so I was mostly focused on him.;)

He got the Yule decs out of the loft and we got those put up – we don't do a lot, as it seems a bit futile when there's only the two of us here, but he likes to do something at least. Lizzie Spaniel arrives the day before Yule, so we'll have company this year, in fact.:o

We went out for a meal last night; I don't really like eating out, but Mr LW loves it, so I go for his sake. But I'm worse than useless today, it really knocks the stuffing out of me. It was a magnificent meal, I have to say; Mr LW had traditional turkey, and I had parsnip, cranberry and chestnut terrine. There were loads of veggies; and we even managed dessert (not that it's a problem for Mr LW). He had orange and date sticky toffee pudding, and I had pomegranate and fig cheesecake. I think I've used up all today's spoons, though.:o

LittleMissPennyStretcher – re N3ctar points: if you shop in Arg0s, you can use points in £2.50 “blocks” to get money off your purchase. I always buy my Br!ta filters there, and use up whatever points we've got at the time.

Molly best of luck with the transfusion; hoping it makes you feel heaps better once it's done.

    Afternoon all,

Sending hugs to all those that need them.

Been busy today, invigilating this morning then onto my usual job and afterwards I had a training session, so didn't get home until after three.
Quickly bunged a chicken layer casserole into the oven and a rice pudding. Just made the bed and put the WM on. DS2 had an adventure day aka Bear Grylls (sp?) and so has come back stinking of bonfires!

Must get myself organised for crimbo this weekend and may start by putting up the tree.

    Have a good evening :)

Bbbrrrr, it's chilly here but compared to some, we are lucky. Done the ghastly supermarket shop, I'm so glad I don't get caught up in the buying frenzy, and enjoy making, making do and general OS.

DH making log reindeer in the garage and I've just been taking photos of our elf on the shelf escapades to email to our GD in Oz, I've been really enjoying myself planning his exploits.

Happy and peaceful weekend and hugs to those who aren't in a good place at the moment.

  • If anyone buys a real Christmas tree, IKEA have an offer to buy a tree for £25 and a get a £20 voucher to spend between 20th January and 9th February. If you have an IKEA family card, you can also print out a voucher to get 6 Svalka champagne glasses free when you spend £25, which means your Christmas tree ends up costing just £3.15 :xmastree:

If anyone has the book of face, the very talented person who has this page is doing an advent picture each day which you are free to share amongst your friends. They are no connection to me, but I'm enjoying the pictures as much as Tru's carols so I thought I would share here.
