OS remedies for Eczema
Do any of you OS experts have a top tip for treating eczema/dry skin? A friend recommended using some white vinegar in the bath which takes the itch out of the skin, and also to use coconut oil rather than expensive creams or prescription creams. Just wondered if anyone had any other top tips?? thanks in advance. DDD x

Dehydrating beans...?
I've searched the Dehydrators thread and can't find anything... Can french/haricot beans be dried in a dehydrator? The actual beans that one would use for cassoulet, not 'sliced green bean'? I've got lots on my lottie and nowhere to dry them.... Thank you!

Pantry organising ideas?
Hopefully I'll be getting a new kitchen soon which I've decided on... but I'm struggling with the pantry. We can replace all the shelves except the thick, low down one as that's a stone slab and I think it's built into the walls. It'll be useful to keep the food processor and dehydrator on out of the way of the worktops.…

Weightwatchers soup recipe
Hi all, Does anyone, by any chance have the soup recipe that Weightwatchers did about 20yrs ago? I know it contained tinned tomatoes and garlic but I cant remember anything else except that it was rather tasty. I telephoned Weightwatchers and they were very unhelpful unfortunately :( Fingers crossed some one may have the…

Getting curtain hooks to stay on glider
We have Swish type tracks similar to these, I then use tape hooks to hang the blackout/thermal liners through the loops on the gliders. For some reason two of the liners keep unhooking from the gliders. Is there any way of securing them in place? These look as if they may hold better?? TIA

The cost of fuel for cooking?
I have never given much thought to the cost of using my cooker/oven. The electric credit ran out this morning, when I'd just topped it up on Monday (£5). I checked the meter and it turns out I used nearly £3 of electric yesterday, not sure how - we don't have any heating on yet and aren't leaving lights on unnecessarily.…

Can I rescue bread dough?
Please help me! I have spent ages making focaccia dough and it hasn't risen properly. I have tested the yeast I used (which is in a tin that is less than 6 months old and in date) and even in a glass with sugar and warm water it took hours to do anything so I'm assuming this is the problem. I baked a small amount as a…

Baby Food - Prepare, Freeze and Serve [help]
I have a baby boy who is 8 months. I never had any plans on how to prepare my baby's food. I was a member of the BabyCenter forum and read and follow whatever the mom's there are preparing. I get to know Annabel Karmel and I get to learn that I can freeze some of my baby's food. When he was starting to eat, I freeze all…

Hello all, can I pick your brains? I'm starting to run low on funds this month, but due to a combination of poor shopping, housemate donations due to holidays, unexpected veg box and going through a phase of not being bothered to cook, I have a tonne of food I really want to use up properly! So, help! What would you make…

Astonish Leather Cleaner
I have read on here that Astonish Leather Cleaner is quite effective and after having gone on their web site to see where they sell it, they list places like Poundland, B & M, 99p Stores etc. but I have been on all these web sites and can't see it on any of them. It seems cheap but effective and I have good results with…

Pattern for a recorder case?
Can anyone please help me with finding a free knitting pattern for a recorder case? I have found two or three on the internet but nothing that I really liked. My granddaughter wants me to knit her one. I suppose I could try to make up my own pattern but I'm not sure how successful I would be at that. I did wonder if I put…
