OS Daily Monday 16th September 2013

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

  • Good morning everyone :)

Bad night's sleep with combination of noise from crazy weather and usual stress related insomnia.

Next consultation meeting today so let's see what they think of our proposal

Need to dash but pop back in later hopefully. In the meantime will leave with usual well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super day :)

Gintot - I have ordered another charger from £-bay so hopefully the laptop will live to see another day - it has no sound, the disc drive doesn't work and 2 out of the 3 usb ports have given up too! Still, it's ok for what I need it for.

Thanks for your thoughts yesterday, DD went to the crematorium to see the book of remembrance and the wall plaque, I didn't go as it is still too upsetting and I know this sounds odd but I don't know what to do when I get there.

Bin day today thank goodness, been clearing everything out and they are full to the rim, will need to take a run to the tip this afternoon after work if they are still open.

Dishwasher gave up on me the other day so that had to go to the tip and I got a new one, even plumbed it in myself and so far it hasn't leaked!

Hope you all have a good week, take care. XX
  • Morning all!

I am heartily sick of being sick. Having the cold is surprisingly hard work and I'm sleeping so much ...

Anyway. The cleaner's coming tomorrow so I have have to get the house 'cleaner-ready' (ie tidy enough for her to do actual cleaning). I'll visit the seedlings and thin the Leafy Greens and Spinach I think - they're looking rather crowded. Then it'll be home for knitting, reading and sleeping while I wait for health to be restored.

Hope everyone else has a good day.

  • Good morning chums,

another Monday morning ,but at least the sun is shining (well at the moment it is )
School run, then Book club.which is good, but awkward as it clashes with knitting group, both held at the same library .Still, I say hello to my knitting chums on my way through. It only ever happens when we have had a bank holiday Then the rota get sorted out :):)

Tomorrow I am hosting the U3A coffee morning and in the evening I have the pub quiz so its going to be a busy week.
Right I'm off for a shower and some cereal then the school run .its all go in my house .Take care everyone

    Good morning everyone

Well it's a very wet and grey day here today. The girls and hubby are going to get soaked on their way to school/work.:( I have a busy day planned with eldest DD dropping off my grandson so she can go for her driving lesson. She has put in for her test so she has 6 weeks now to prepare for it. :)

I have been looking up recipes for boiled fruit cake as I found a jar of elderly dried fruit in the cupboard. There's no use by date on it not that I care about things like that anyway but it's definitely been in the cupboard for at least three years :rotfl::rotfl:

Evil kittens are growing big now. They will be neutered soon but for now are exploring the great outside world AKA the back garden
:D. They haven't brought me in any 'presents' yet thank goodness . I'm terrified of dead things, it's a real phobia I have so I don't know what I would do. I only ever had one cat in my life which used to bring birds etc home and I used to ring my dad to come and deal with them, but my lovely dad is no longer with us so I would have to wait until hubby came home.

Oh well, better crack on, I have washing to do, cleaning up the kitchen and living room and a visit to Tescos all before 9.15 when my grandson arrives. Better chivvy these kids out the door too :D.

Hope you manage to have a great day even if the weather is horrible. Take care and as always, gentle hugs for all who would like one.
    Cheers m'dears x
