    Mortgage-free Glee!
    Hello!
Long time absent .....so much has happened since last I posted... Stomach tumour removed two weeks ago, still doing daily heparin injections. Feeling remarkably fit actually and really looking forward to being able to walk a good distance and be able to drive again. Side benefit is that because stomach reduced in size appetite definitely smaller and the weight is dropping off!
Need to get myself properly organised once more...house could do with thorough declutter and shopping needs rationalising yet again. Oh well....will try to pop in more often as I feel very out of touch...

You sound really chirpy after what must have been a worrying time
but don't overdo things and try to pace yourself if you possibly can. I am glad you are feeling so positive though.

Managed to get DH to have a home made smoothie and big slice of HM fruit loaf. Have leftover Sunday lunch for him and home made mini quiches for me and DD for lunch.

No idea what to make tonight but probably chicken, vegie noodly thingy to use up veg or maybe a home made loaf with pumpkin soup to use up the home grown ones that are lurking reproachfully.

I peeled and chopped carrots, huge pumpkin and some marrow to freeze yesterday and also pickled more beetroot. Another batch of beetroot is cooling down ready to jar.

Might offer dd a trip out to look at jumpers and also splurge on good slippers for me. Wish I knew when Hotters are doing the three for two sale again as i could get slippers for me, DH and a pair of shoes for me for 2/3rds of price.

Very quiet without youngest dd who went back to uni at weekend. Had a nice long shower and lie in which I thoroughly enjoyed as rest of week and three weeks after will be daily hospital appts for DH and we will be dashing around.

Going to make lunch and offer trip out so see you all later.

    Hugs to all

I am feeling quite virtuous (sp?:o).

DS perked up said he wanted to go school (his sick was not realyy sick iywkim) so i grabbed the uniform and off he went so far not heard anything, I took the houndettes out for an hour, came home whipped round the house (treated it as a PF clean so i didnt get side tracked). All done, have made a ham and egg pie and courgette soup with the ham stock (why isn't there a smiley that huhs you fingers and rubs on chest ). Am just about to make some muffins (not cakey muffins, muffin muffins).

Off to polish my halo (ahem)

Elona, do you have a good book to read whilst you are waiting for your DH to have his daily treatment? And please don't forget to factor in some R&R for yourself so you don't wear yourself out caring for him.
  • elona - My MIL is currently on wk2 of her 4wks treatment, as floss said take a book, the appt's rarely run on time x

  • Beemuzed, hope you are able to do the things you want to soon.

Had a lovely weekend away with DH in the caravan. Bit wet on Saturday so went to Canterbury to have a nosey round the shops and then fish and chips for tea. Bit miffed when we got back yesterday to find DS2 and his mate who had stayed Sat night, had broken both the corners of the kitchen worktop off!! Don't know if I believe their story. Still at least it was mendable!

Been for a walk this morning with my friend and came back with Damsons, blackberries and some lovely eating apples. So pleased she has her mum's spare walking stick in the car (for hooking high branches). So jam making tomorrow I think :)

    Have a nice evening.
  • Afternoon all.
Was going to reply lunchtime but H had the call to say his car was ready to we went to collect it. £1800 but considering they had originally priced £3k I will semi happily take that.
Just cooking cauliflower "rice" for tea as I am fasting so having a chicken curry. Goodness this cauliflower gets everywhere
Not got much done today aside from a quick vac, bed being changed and a trip to Ald*. Back in the hamster wheel tomorrow I guess.

No other news, had a lot of sun today which has been nice :D

Hugs and spoons all round xxx

beemuzed glad op went well but sloooooooooow down Mrs x

BB feel your pain re car insurance, over £1k for our two cars  time to shop around again.

Made some barm cakes for tea , a Paul Hollywood recipe , they were lovely . We had them filled with sausages and onions :T, got some barm cakes left for tomorrow's lunches:)

BB I like the sound of your soup , did you,fry the courgette first?
  • Nice day today went to book club and had a pleasant chat about our books that we have been reading then a quick nip into M&S and spotted a 'Lazy Beer Can half a chicken, reduced to 2.25 so snaffled that, and its cooking for dinner tonight with steamed new potatoes and cabbage, and left overs will be for tomorrows lunch I think.

Looks quite big so I think it will stretch a bit. Also three huge turkey thighs ,very meaty and reduced in price which will do me at least three meals so they have gone into the freezer. Can't buy anything else as my freezer is stuffed full at the moment . Even small corners are full of blackberries and apple slices. No more shopping for me now for at least a week- ten days.Just as well as I have lots of clubs and appointments to fill over the next couple of weeks.Tomorrow morning I'm hosting a coffee morning and in the evening eldest DD and I are off to quiz night, hopefully she won't have to take anyone to task this week :):):) Shelly can be a feisty little thing when she gets going (can't imagine where she gets it from :):):)) Then Wedneday morning I have to see the dietician and hopefully she will be as happy as I am at my weight loss.
I love my new steamer and I seem to use it every day with veg etc.
I can smell the chook cooking and it smells lovely ,I'm off to have a nice cuppa and feet up until the chicken is ready
    Have a good evening everyone

Not had a very productive day. Went to drs this morning. going to have some blood tests tomorrow so from 9 this evening nothing apart from water. Won't be too bad tonight, but really like my coffee 1st thing. I still feel very tired so haven't done much today.

Beemuzed - Like others have said make sure you rest.
Molly & Hester - hope you both are not doing too much too soon either.
    Butterfly - ((hugs))
Bargainbird - I can see your halo from here

Can't seem to remember everything these days. Sorry if I have missed anyone. Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take care
