Pantry organising ideas?

Hopefully I'll be getting a new kitchen soon which I've decided on... but I'm struggling with the pantry. We can replace all the shelves except the thick, low down one as that's a stone slab and I think it's built into the walls. It'll be useful to keep the food processor and dehydrator on out of the way of the worktops.

It seems there's quite a lot of blank space that could be used somehow. We could have more shelves which would fill up the wall space but what about on the floor/lower down and underneath the stone slab?

  • You could have a cupboard built into the bottom rather than just shelving for your extra appliances? Xx

For projects like this, I'd search "pantry" on Pinterest - usually a wealth of fab ideas :), for example (though I know you're asking more about the built in side) using lazy susans in the corners so all bottles and jars can be reached.

Underneath the stone slab maybe some drawers, like the wire ones meant for clothes and sold in IKEA or the plastic bins which can easily be labelled. Good for packs of pasta, tins, etc. like below

I love the pantry below, where they've made sections perfect for tins and used plastic boxes on shelves for extra organisation.

I'd add shelving right up to the top for "stocking up" and make sure there is space somewhere below the slab for a stepping stool.

You lucky thing, I'd love to have a pantry! I was going to suggest looking on Pinterest, but I see it's already been suggested.

I would think the area under the stone shelf would be ideal to store potatoes and veg.
  • Search 'pantry organization' on YouTube and watch all of the american pantry videos - they are great!
  • I use Stack-a-boxes from Lakeland and label them all with a Brother P-Touch machine. Looks smart, not expensive, and uses space efficiently.

Always go for square or oblong storage boxes, not round ones, it uses the space more efficiently.

I've got a bottle (wine;)) rack under the lower shelves in mine...
