Hob guards??

Hello all,

Just bought a new place and with it came a range cooker. It as cast iron hob guards (i think this is what they are called, the rectangle thing that sits on the gas rings :rotfl:).

My question is about cleaning them - the previous owner kept them spic and span beautifully but i have never owned anything like this before so not sure about the best way to clean.

Any tips gratefully received.

When I had a gas cooker, if something spilled on the cast iron bits, I'd just take them off and give them a good scrub with a scourer and hot soapy water.

If you can, bung them in the DW (if you have one)

Otherwise, soak in very hot water with bio washing powder/liquid added. It then should wipe off :)
