Stains on white enamel roasting dish

I've got a lovely old white roasting dish which I got my from nan, but it's gone all brown with baked on stains. Any ideas for how to improve the condition? I've tried good old elbow grease and also soaking in white vinegar.

Thanks!

I swear by wire wool, it does leave a greyish tinge on white, but if I soak afterwards in washing up liquid it comes off :)
  • I'd use astonish paste (£1 usually in Wilkinson and suchlike) and a plastic scourer.
  • Astonish paste or Barkeeper's Friend will scour off the marks. If I'd run out of both I'd try bicarbonate of soda or toothpaste.

if the above hints don't work then try either a 'magic sponge' (poundshop ones are perfectly good) or lemon juice. put some kitchen paper soaked in lemon juice over the stain and leave at least overnight or 24 hours.
