Pattern for a recorder case?

Can anyone please help me with finding a free knitting pattern for a recorder case? I have found two or three on the internet but nothing that I really liked. My granddaughter wants me to knit her one. I suppose I could try to make up my own pattern but I'm not sure how successful I would be at that. I did wonder if I put a cable stitch up the full length that would stop it from stretching too much. Any help appreciated. I could also consider crocheting one but I'm not so confident with crochet.

try looking for knitted spectacle cases with drawstring tops then elongate the body.
how big is the recorder? because tbh you just need to make a long rectangle and close the bottom by stitching and the top can be folded down to make a tunnel through which you can pass a couple of ribbons to make a drawstring closure. a couple of hours work? depending on your weight of wool I would knit a test square of twenty stitches - measure it then calculate how many stitches you need to make a rectangle you fold in half and would comfortably be able to hold the recorder. I cant help you there as there are different size recorders!0 -
