What do you use to wash with and where do you buy it from?
I was just wondering how I could cut down on my washing expenses and general cleaning. Currently I buy brand names when on offer but I was just wondering if there were any bargains out there I am missing, I love to use FS but would be willing to sacrifice this. I do sometimes buy in B&M and Home Bargains but find the price…

Freezing sausages and food in general!
I have had some sausages opened in the fridge since Wednesday, the use by date is the 23rd but I have frozen them this morning. I've just noticed on the packet it says to consume within 24 hours once opened so should I throw these away although they smell fine? I'm trying to be as money saving as possible but getting so…

What to make with leftover sponge fingers?
I've got some leftover sponge fingers and have no idea what to make with them. Something quick and simple would be good. I've looked at trifles and tiramisu but they all require to be left overnight and we'd love something sweet now. LOL I've not got any cream either. I have a 200g pack of soft cheese and icing sugar Any…

Any help as my mum said 45 mins but she's often confused!

Ridiculous number of supermarket visits
I did a bit of research on my bank account over the weekend as I am trying to see where any savings could be made. Checked my Debit card payments to Asda and was horrified. In 12 weeks I had spent £1063 (in reality was probably slightly more than this as I sometimes pay with cash which wouldn't show obviously, but not a…

~£15 a week on food, the old style is the best
For the past few months I've spent about £15 a week on food (single student living in London). Here are the kinds of things I buy, all from Tesco. Although it's not a lot of money I manage to have a very balanced and healthy diet. If I was really, really pushed I think I could survive reasonably healthy on 50p/day for…

Cleaning mildew from a suede coat
Hello everyone! :j Hope the NY finds you well! :j My husband was given his father's suede coat a few years ago (dating from the 1970s) and enjoys having it around for nostalgic reminders of his dad and his own 1990s 70s revival! Sadly because of the damper flats we lived in, this coat has some mildew on the exterior. How…

Frozen peas/corn question
I make pasta salads for the kids lunchboxes and would like to include peas/sweetcorn in them. At the moment I use tinned corn but that works out v expensive. When I make a prawn one, I put the prawns in frozen in the morning and they stir them in at lunchtime - helps keep the whole lot fresh. If I use frozen peas/corn, do…
