OS Daily Tuesday 15th January 2013
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 15th January 2013 - . This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all, cold and frosty here today and the roads are icy but no snow. had a quick walk with the animals as had rubbish sleep last night and have been awake since 4.30am:eek: just hope I can get through the day. Hugs to all in need , stay warm and safe :)

    Morning everyone

Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Now gettting light, no new snow overnight, but did get quite heavy snow yesterday afternoon - it now seems quite icy too, so roads will be treacherous, oh joy!

DH up and off to work stupid early.

Dinner last night was fish, chips/jacket potato, beans/veg. Tonight's dinner will be sausage, mash, veg and onion gravy.

The bathroom company guy that was going to visit last night cancelled and is now visiting on Thursday evening - have no problems with him re-booking as the roads were horrid last night when I came home from work.

Work was busier than expected, lots of the older customers were coming in and paying extra so if the weather was still bad next week they wouldn't have to venture out!

Have a great day everyone, stay safe and well x

    Morning Miffy and Bargainbird,

Another one whose all over the place with sleep, I did manage to fall asleep downstairs last night at 8.30:eek: then hubby pushed me upstairs, managed to sleep until 5.30 this morning.
More work on budgets and figures today. I have a guy coming to look at the car at lunchtime. Fingers crossed its something simple.and cheap.
Tea tonight is gammon and pineapple. Also am definitely doing some ebaying today.
Also need to gather all the bits and pieces together for the agency interview tomorrow. Honestly I need a small truck to carry it all!
Dh has fixed the leak under our shower so the next job is to try and fix the ceiling without completely re papering it.
Have a good day all x

    Morning Miffy and all,

no snow here, what we did have has melted but its pretty cold out there.

Slept rubbish last night, coughing and spluttering all over the place and ive got a sore throat from hell! I'd go back to bed but i find it hard to sleep lying down cause i'm so bunged up.

Sod the housework today theres not much to do anyway just the odd job. If i feel up to it later i want to :

    [STRIKE]Clean the cooker[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Dust upstairs (didnt do it yesterday)[/STRIKE]
    Go to the Post Office
Pop into the chemist on the way back.

    Tea? Something quick and easy.

As you can probably tell, i'm a grumpy sod today.:(

Have a warm and safe day all. :)

    morning all,

Well the snow did not last long, twas beautiful till midday, then the rain started and it all disappeared :p just seems icy this morning.

Managed to get all my office work done yesterday, and got a huge job done thats been niggling at me for months, (waiting for other people to get back to me) so feel much better about that now.

Dinner tonight is cheesy bean pie, with come ham slices from xmas. Need to drop dd at work this morning, than take mum to the hospital for an eye test, will hopefully be able to see dad this afternoon, then home for a quick tidy round and do dinner.

Have good days all and keep warm xx
  • Morning all

I'm getting back in the habit of my work hours ready to return to work on Thurday, so woke up at 7am and forced myself to stay awake. That said I'm in bed with a cuppa, but at least I'm awake and functioning!

Today I'm meeting an ex-colleague for lunch, it will probably be the last time we are ever ladies who lunch as she has a new job in another town from next month so it won't be feasible again :( but we shall enjoy. As I'll be in town I'll pop to Aldi too for fruit & veg.

Other than that my plans include spring cleaning the bedrooms, and doing a bit of work work so I haven't got so much to do when I return.

OS wise - WM on with towels in, spring clean bedrooms, laundry mountain to go away, HM soup to portion and freeze, stuffed peppers for tea.

    Have a good day all

    Morning all,

Had a good day yesterday. Sorted out under the sink. Chucked out and recycled old bottles. Founr some liquid shoe polish dated 2005:eek: Don't know how that was still there!:rotfl:

Did under the stairs too. I am having a downstairs loo installed, so had to find a new home for the dyson and steam cleaner. My cleaner despairs at me, I'm always moving things! This time though they have found a permanant home (I hope!)

OH took me to dinner last night in a new place that was fab. Had Morrocan meat balls. They were lush! Tonight I'm having chicken stir fry with the leftover chicken from the weekend.

No snow here, but blooming cold:snow_laug I am not dressed yet, I may not be! Don't have "Duvet days" that often, we'll see.

Hospital tomorrow, so maybe I will laze today.

    Have a good day.

    morning!

    icy one here!

busy few days. We collected our chair yesterday, last part of our suite that I bought second hand - a fantastic bargain as it's good quality leather. I'm thrilled with it:):j

    Major decluttering going on here.

Off to work later. Ironing to do this morning plus kitchen floor to mop.

The snow soon disappeared here thankfully.

    (((hugs))) to those in need.

Take care on the roads x
