Frozen peas/corn question

I make pasta salads for the kids lunchboxes and would like to include peas/sweetcorn in them. At the moment I use tinned corn but that works out v expensive.
When I make a prawn one, I put the prawns in frozen in the morning and they stir them in at lunchtime - helps keep the whole lot fresh.
If I use frozen peas/corn, do I need to cook them first or are they ok to use straight from the pack?
TIA

Just curious, where do you buy your tinned sweetcorn from now? and how much does it cost? Because in Lidl you can buy a big tin of sweetcorn for 32p and it's just as nice as green giant
I think you'd have to cook the corn first but the peas should be ok just defrostedSeptember Grocery Challenge £0/£2250 -
Both peas and corn are already cooked - I just put them in frozen and they defrost by lunchPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

I get Tesco Value corn, I think it was 33p the last time I bought it for a big tin.
I'm petty sure you would need to cook peas beforehand. You could leave a handful out of the frezer to try yoursef?0 -
Both peas and corn are fine to eat once defrosted. No need to cook.

I do cook them first, but only because I thought you had to
When I do this I cook up a batch and keep in the fridge for a couple of days. Then just mix in as needed.

Fruball - I'm seriously impressed with the quality of your pack ups! Prawns? At lunchtime? For kids? My two either refused a pack up (too dorky) or would only take a tortilla wrap with houmous and flavoured chicken. Now she'll only go the shop at lunchtime because that's where her mates go.0

Value prawns are about £2 a bag and I only use a few so a bag lasts agesI reckon I get enough for up to 10 pasta salads so only 20p ish for each one. Similar to what I might spend on a pack of aldi nice brunswick ham at 99p for 5/6 slices so the same.
I use any tinned corn I can find but prefer green giant if it is on offer.
My two are 6 and love their packed lunches0
