Welcome to the Thread This is a friendly, supportive thread for anybody who is affected by hoarding issues. Some of us are the product of an environment where somebody else's…

Saturday 9 June Daily Mail code
I buy the Mail on Saturdays and Sundays for the code so that I can ultimately get the e-reader with the points. I did buy the paper this morning but because we were in a rush I didn't notice that the supplement was missing. By the time we got back home the shops were all closed. If you have bought the paper and are not…

Pork joint like a brick - any ideas for rescue?
Hi, I picked up a small whoopsied pork joint from the hot meat counter at Mr M, but when I took it out of the bag it is is as hard as a rock lol. Not wanting to throw it away I thought if there is any way to rescue it the good folks on this forum are the ones who would know! My plan for now is to pop it in the freezer but…

Homemade seat covers
I hope I have put this in the right section, if not sincere apologies. We have recently been lucky enough to buy a caravan so that we can all go away, however, my husband has now been made redundant from work (today was his last day). We were planning to replace the seats with new seat covers as we have two dogs and my dad…

Cost per week of HM packed lunches
I am in deep water this month financially :( I desperately need to cut ALL my outgoings and as I spend £25 each per week for my two children for school dinners, I wondered what the price comparison would be if I made HM packed lunches. I can cook/bake etc so hm cakes/biscuits/flapjacks etc is easily do-able. They do like…

Sun-Cream stained school polo shirt
Wondering if someone can help me? My son's school polo shirts have turned yellow from the expensive make sun cream and I can't get them white again. They've been boil washed with my husbands chef whites, I've soaked them in the oxygen release white powder stuff and still they're yellow, not just a tinge of yellow either -…

Renewing the lettering on a gravestone!
I would like to touch up the lettering on the headstone on my father's grave. The lettering is painted and I had it touched up by company, who supply gravestones, when my mother's ashes were added to the grave about 12 years ago. It was quite costly and I wondered if I could do it myself with some masonry paint. I was…

Is there an OS recipe builder online anywhere?
I'm making (slow) progress with trying to keep the family to a budget and cutting down our spends on food, but i'm finding it really hard, I guess after more than a decade of bad spending, its going to take a while. One of the things i've noticed is that I do several 'top up' shops during the week, to buy an item I have…

Dyeing problem
About two weeks ago I dyed my linen trousers black as they had faded. I have done this before with previous trousers in the same machine without problem. In the meantime, despite having done four service washes and some washes my washing is now coming out covered in dye. This is more apparent in my whites although we have…

Pricing the shopping to the penny.
Near me I have Asda,Tesco,Sainsbobs & Lidls all withing a mile radius,so I don't mind shopping around for the best bargains. Anyway I've started doing meal plans & sticking them up on the freezer after seeing what I've got in there, which at the moment isn't a lot. I know roughly how much I get each fortnight from my sick…

fondant icing sugar v icing sugar
Hi, I'm going to try and make some iced cake squares this afternoon, as it is chucking it down and I think it might help keep one of my girls entertained. The recipe I have uses a fondant icing that you pour over the cake squares, and the recipe says to use fondant icing sugar. I only have normal icing sugar. Would this…
