Dyeing problem

About two weeks ago I dyed my linen trousers black as they had faded. I have done this before with previous trousers in the same machine without problem.

In the meantime, despite having done four service washes and some washes my washing is now coming out covered in dye. This is more apparent in my whites although we have had an okay white wash. I have put in some colour run white product but after three washes my whites are still grey - they are towels and one pair of linen trousers.

HELP please?

I shall not be dying clothes in the WM again!!

Sorry to ask, but you did use salt to fix the dye when you dyes the trousers?
Hoping this year is better than the last. :)

 Always wipe out the washer well (all around the seals) when using it to dye clothes, better yet use a washer cleaner run through on a normal cycle.
