Whick curry can I put turkey in?!

Always had chicken in my curries but seen as I have a load of turkey that needs using, and I fancy curry, I want to know if it's nice and actually goes.
I have korma, balti and tikka, would turkey go in any/all of them? What's your opinion of it? I feel like a bit of a novice asking this haha
Thanks. :)

I have put cooked turkey in tikka masala sauce before, was ok. It was already cooked as it was left over from xmas dinner. Just put the turkey in the sauce and heated it through, not for long, 15 minutes or so.

Turkey will go in any recipe that calls for chicken, so all of them. I treat it exactly the same as chicken - just think of it as a giant one.

I treat turkey as totally interchangeable with chicken. Curry, Chilli, Lasagne etc.

I agree. For all intents and purposes, chicken = turkey.

I've even used turkey mince in Bolognese sauce and chill con carne. It's lower in fat and cheaper than beef mince.

I've even used it in what I called a "poultryman's pie", with root mash on the top.

PS. Why do you never see chicken mince?

  • Definitely agree - I just treat it like chicken. Coronation Turkey is another yummy alternative to use it up! :)

I've used Turkey in curry before,I've marinaded cubes of Turkey in tikka paste to make kebabs & it's came out better than if I used chicken.

Thanks,it's just some Sharwoods Tikka paste & some yoghurt mixed, slathered over the meat & then left overnight in the fridge, then skewered with chunks of peppers, mushrooms & onions & then grilled. Then eat as is with a salad or with rice & the curry sauce of your choice over the top.
