fondant icing sugar v icing sugar

Hi,

I'm going to try and make some iced cake squares this afternoon, as it is chucking it down and I think it might help keep one of my girls entertained.

The recipe I have uses a fondant icing that you pour over the cake squares, and the recipe says to use fondant icing sugar. I only have normal icing sugar.

Would this work in pretty much the same way? I really don't want to go out again in this weather!!

snap - I have made some cakes this afternoon as well!

I covered one lot with icing made from icing sugar and a little water and vanilla essence. That has set, not as hard as fondant icing, but good enough. It is the same consistency, and you pour or spread it whilst it's wet. So I would say yes, it should be fine.
