Homemade jam - too set to get out of jar

I've made a jar of jam but must have got my proportions wrong and it has set so hard I can't get it out of the jar - would have bent the spoon if I'd not given up. Any remedies or will I just have to bin it? TIA.
It's 5 o'clock somewhere!

Put it in the microwave, no idea what to do then, but least it'll melt it. Could be added to more fruit, since you've obviously got too high a pectin proportion.Opinion on everything, knowledge of nothing.0

Try it in a pan of hot water, microwave may give "hot spots" of boiling jam in a glass jar and boiling hot jam is not nice, especially cleaning it off the inside of a microwaveGardener’s pest is chef’s escargot0

Sounds like you made candy!
I'd try sitting the jar in a pan of hot water for a while and see if that softens it enough to turn it out of the jar."Be the type of woman that when you get out of bed in the morning, the devil says 'Oh crap. She's up.'
It ain’t what you do, it’s the way that you do it - that’s what gets results!
