Help cleaning wallpaper - a bit gross :(
Sorry if this is a bit disgusting :( We have a loo that is in it's own tiny room which is only about 6 inches wider on each side of the loo seat. The men folk in this house must have pretty bad aim when they wee because I have noticed that the wallpaper behind and on the sides nearest the back wall is all spattered and…

Uses for smallish plastic bags?
My DH goes to the gym at least 4 or 5 times per week, and always brings his wet shorts home in one of the wee plastic bags which they provide. They would be about the size of say, a large sandwich or freezer bag, with handles. Now, I usually just bin them, or, if I remember, I take them to supermarket recycling bag bin,…

Advice for keeping salad bar fresh?
I'm trying to encourage everyone at home to eat more salad, but DH hates cucumber and DS1 can't eat tomatoes. I've decided to do a "salad bar" at home and have separate containers of cucumber, tomatoes, onion, peppers and grated carrot; so people can mix their own! I honestly don't think I could be bothered to prepare it…

Can brand/material of roasting tin affect how much meat spits?
Aaagghh! For years I used a Good Housekeeping non-stick roasting tin. Cooked roasts with no problem. It finally died - non-stick surface ruined and starting to rust. Replaced it with a non-stick tin made by Pyrex. Ever since, my meat is spitting horrendously and making a complete mess of my oven every time! Same meat, same…

Recipes/meals i can cook without using a hob?
After seeing the thread about cooking without an oven... i have the opposite problem - i have no hob at the moment! It was a gas hob (calor), as part of a dual fuel range, and something's gone wrong with the pressure in it, and when the gas is switched on, there's so much pressure than you can't turn the gas off the rings…

How do I use Abido spices?
I bought (or got my foreign student lodger to) several large packets of spices - 7 Mixed Spices, Kabesh Spices and Biryani Spices. The only problem is I have no idea how much to use when cooking! I've looked on their website but that's not any help. I'm wary of ruining a meal and having to chuck it away! Does anyone else…

Who doesn't have a stock cupboard
On various internet forums, there are people that say that have no food in the house - not even pasta, a tin of tomatoes etc. I cannot believe some people don't have a stock cupboard. Not just because if their bank has system problems, but when in situations where you cannot go out because of your ill, injured or snowed…

Morphy Richards Fast Bake help!
Having dug out my breadmaker and set it to bake, it has mixed the dough and completed the cycle, it seems to have warmed the dough enough for it to rise correctly but not actually baked the loaf! Any suggestions highly valued! Was looking forward to a nice fresh loaf!
