Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 25th June. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, soplease don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Wow blue sky and sunshine this morning. A lovely pick me up after a bad weekend :D had lovely walk over fields with dog but was boiling in my jacket. Couldn't take it off as I get up and throw some clothes on and generally go bra less.......:o think I shall have to start putting the old boulder holder on to spare my dignity and stop sweltering :rotfl:
Plans are to catch up on everything
Food shop is first port of call. Didn't go at all last week and were nearly out of pretty much everything, poor cat is down to her last crumbs for her kibble.
Once I've had the pleasure of shopping and then putting it away time to tackle the mess downstairs  note to self never let me and H get sick at same time again :o

This afternoon I have to take DS for a hearing test and it clashes with DDs little sports day. Good job H has the afternoon off and is going and I don't really want to reschedule.

No idea what's for tea, not thought that far ahead.

Hugs and spoons all round xxxx

Hope no one is in too much of a grump about the football ;) I do think it's time we accepted that actually we aren't that good at our national sport anymore.

Morning Bitsy, glad you are all feeling better, lovely sunshine here too so Jack and I had a sunny walk, so much better when you don't have a wet dog to deal with. Off to school in a minute DD is going to do the housework and cooking as she is finished at Uni and looking for work. She hates doing nothing and doesn't mind a bit of domestic stuff.Hugs to all in need , hope you have good news about the job Topsy. Have a good day all.:)

Sadly Miffy still have a semi wet and muddy dog to deal with, long dewy filled grass and muddy fields (due to so much rain) means the old dog towels still get an daily airing. Still I don't mind, mornings like this make up for all the wet ones :D

Further to Camper van wannabes when I was younger we had one like this http://www.thebristolcampercompany.co.uk/camper-vans/ruby-1979-type-2-bay-window.php I'd love another one again but can't afford the prices!

    Morning everyone

Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Bright, sunny and much less blustery here this morning. 2 loads of washing already on the line and anothe in the WM as we speak.

DH up and off to work at stupid early.

Back to work today - I'm expecting the usual manic Monday!

Got back from weekend away yesterday afternoon, we wanted to get away Friday night but DH got held up at work so we went first thing Saturday morning, weather changeable typical sunshine and showers but we dodged the showers. Had a good time at the social event on Saturday night - a few glasses of vino with good friends and some dancing. We were very good when we got back - I'd left some pork chops in the fridge, so we dug a few new potatoes and we had some carrots, broccolli and peas, made a jug of gravy and re-heated some yorkshire puddings that I'd made and frozen - voila! a reasonable roast type meal without being tempted into ordering takeaway and so much cheaper! Tonight dinner will be pie, chips and beans for the menfolk as I have a meeting at the school regarding DS1's school trip.

Have a busy week ahead - a meeting tonight, we need to take caravan to site on Thursday night as have Aunt's funeral on Friday - so we're going to go away after the funeral on Friday afternoon/evening. The weekend rally is a fishing rally - the boys had a really good fishing match here last year and caught loads of decent sized fish - hoping it will be the same this year!

Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x

    Morning all,

Bright and beautiful day here too, will get dd's bedding washed today, once she is up :D, I need to drop her at work at 9.30 so it had better be soon.

Bitsy, we used to have one of those too, oh how I would love one now, I would love to be able to escape for weekends, so can I join the wannabe club too ? :D

Got to phone the Dr this morning, my ear is still playing up, yesterday it hurt so much, that it made me sick, I cannot lay my head down because it hurts so much, its in the bone behind the ear, and I need it sorted as we fly off on hols on Saturday morning.

Got to take dd for a haircut later on, and have a quick look around the shops, dinner will involve leftover chicken.

Need to hoover through, and start putting things together to pack :T

    Have good days all xx

Don't be camper van wannabees, do it! we did, we have converted a vito, much cheaper than a vw, just spent a lovely week away in it.:D

I think this link should work even if you are not friends with me on FB

As you can see, we did most of the work ourselves, with help from family, we did buy and have the bed fitted, also cushions to match the bed. I have never knew I could tint windows lol

Sorry if this is silly, but where do you go to the loo when you're away in a camper van? :o

Morning all. OH left yonks ago with pack up and will be back late as he's picking up a new mattress on the way home. We bought a "double bed" off ebay but it's actualy a kingsize
I'm getting ebay stuff ready to post atm and will dig out more to sell later, also gonna have a mooch in the CS later.

    Morning All,

Sunny day in Hastings. Sea looks good today, been slamming up for the last two days:eek:
OH working in the dining room. Man from window company just gone. Last two in the house to do now. Garage and little one in a cupboard that I'm hoping will eventually become a downstairs loo.

Not sure what to have for dinner tonight, will have a look soon:rotfl:

Had a pretty chilled weekend. Ordered the tiles for the kitchen. Had a nightmare with the men who delivered the fridge. They damaged the bottom door bringing it in, but can't get any recompense because I bought it from someone in Huddersfield who is ignoring my emails.
Have to put it down to experience I suppose.:o

Dazi Love your van! My ex and I converted one years ago when the kids were young, had years of fun in it!

Anyway, (((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))) if you need them.

    Morning :hello:

I walked into the lounge yesterday morning, switched the laptop on, walked into the kitchen to make a cuppa and there were shoes by the door that I didn't recognise. Walked back in to the lounge and there were bodies sleeping on my chairs  Nearly had a heart attack. Master tru had invited his mates back and they all fell asleep. I was not impressed. They were all polite though, and tidied up after themselves.

FIL is peeing me off. He wanted something, made out it was partly for us and was doing us a huge favour and wanted us to help fund it. I refused and said he was in effect ripping us off. I turned it around (it kind of started accidentally) - when I realised exactly what I was saying, I should've shut my mouth. But I carried on and turned it to our advantage. Shouldn't have done that really, but he was happy to do it to us and has done in the past, so there we are.

The washing's on the line, the kitchen and bathroom have been cleaned. There are drip-shaped water marks all over the shower tiles so I've sprayed them with vinegar, will wipe them down in a bit.

I'm going to spend the morning in the garden, then start reading my 'new' (I've had it for over a year) book this afternoon.

    hello again

I am still on a high after my successful baking yesterday :D Is it a bit sad that the highlight of my weekend was a successful pineapple upside down cake ;)

Sunny here in the south again today, so have stripped the beds should get sheets dry today. Have finally managed to log onto NWest online banking, think its up to date now so have moved money around to cover cheque due to come off this week.

Monday is shopping day for me so its a trip to @ldi, but am beginning to doubt my mealplan for the week when its been so sunny... not sure I will want stew and dumplings ! I have written a shopping list and priced it up so should stay on budget. This afternoon will be hoovering and general tidying/floor washing.

Dinner tonight will be homemade chilli burgers and wedges.

    Have a good day x
