Induction ovens
I was lucky enough to win an induction oven through a competition at the good food show. It has been installed for about a month now and I have only used the regular oven/ grill features. It seems to cook much better than the cheaper oven I had a fitted before. However I still haven't used the induction plate. The oven…

Hello everyone. I've not been here for a while, but I have decided to start a challenge for myself, and wondered if anyone would like to join me. I'm calling it Champagne lifestyle on a lemonade budget because I heard the phrase recently and it made me smile that somebody thought it was not possible or wise, but I reckon…

Uses for vodka (besides the obvious)
A few weeks ago I had major toothache - knocked a filling out, and desperately needed a "quick fix" pain relief. In the absence of seeing my dentist anytime soon - it was 5pm Thursday, the day before a Bank Holiday weekend :( , this called for drastic action. I decided a cocktail of painkillers & vodka mouthwash was the…

I have some ties that I have opened up and re-tied because: - I am taller now and they are tied too short - Some my dad tied with a small knot and I prefer a bigger one However some of them now have creases on the front part - how can I remove these? Should I iron with something placed over the tie and if so what?

Feather Dusters
Does anyone use the old style ostrich feather duster? Is it any good? I have used the static fluffy dusters on a stick and have been quite happy but after a while they resemble dreadlocks. Just wondering if I'd be better off with a proper feather duster.
