My SIL brought me some Rose jam from Morroco but I do not have a clue what to do with it!
It is clear, bright pink and tastes VERY perfumey,so no good for toast or jam tarts.
We are veggies so cannot eat with meat or fish.
Would love to hear your ideas before it is condemmed to the composter!:D
Many thanks

We bought LOADS of it back from Bulgaria and were wondering what to do with it! It's really good if you use it in a Victoria sponge - thin layer of jam and then cream. Yum! It tends to be a bit of a marmite thing though - most people we've given slices of cake to either really like it or say it tastes like eating soap. I really like it!0

So you've tasted it? Do you like or dislike the taste? Sounds like you dislike it but don't want to waste it. If you like the taste, then there are several ideas that spring to mind.
I'd suggest warming it and serving over good vanilla ice-cream. Or having it on crumpets. (I make rose-hip jelly and it's lovely over crumpets.)
Another thought would be to do Jam Drop biscuits and use the jam for that. Or make sweet muffins or cupcakes with the jam as a filling (follow your favourite plain recipe, put 2/3 of the usual mix into the muffin tin, then add a tablespoon of jam to each muffin. Top up with the remainder of the batter).
ETA: I see Butterfly Brain had the same idea with the cookies."Be the type of woman that when you get out of bed in the morning, the devil says 'Oh crap. She's up.' "
It ain’t what you do, it’s the way that you do it - that’s what gets results!

Thank you to everyone for the ideas I will definately give them a go. Husband makes ice cream so perhaps he can make a vanilla and rose icecream.
Pitneyjane, you are right I do not like the taste, but I have only tried it 'neat' from the jar. However, mixed in a cake or icecream it could be delicious!0 -
Butterfly Brain - I have just logged in to write down the recipes you very kindly left yesterday but your post had disappeared.
Please could you let me know where youfound the recipes.

I once had a gorgeous HM honey and lavender ice cream, so I think rose would probably be just as lovely.
I remember Nigella once making rose petal sandwiches, so maybe might be worth trying a tiny bit spread on toast/sandwich?0 -
I LOvE rose jam, and even though you don't like it, it is great if one does on toast. I just want to point that put for people who don't relaise its good for that and think from your post it is not!
I agree its no good slathered on, but i don't like heaps of any jam, just a scraping is sufficient!0 -
I wonder what it what taste like diluted in hot water as a drink?0

I've never tried it, but it sounds like it might be nice on scones with cream.0

In north Africa they use it when making pastries. So, a wee bit as a glaze, or to sandwich shortbread type biscuits together. I think a spoonful would be nice mixed into a cake mix or for buns. Would give a nice Turkish delight flavour, but too much would be overpowering.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
