  • Lovely in a light lemon sponge.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

I love Turkish Delight and can think of nothing nicer than some home made scones topped with Rose jam and Clotted cream!

I also thought maybe a queen of puddings? I would definety put a lot of lemon in the breadcrums because otherwise it could be far too sweet with rose jam under the meringue, but it could be amazing. I would also put some pistachios on the meringue if i did this.

Or, if you know children who like the taste of the jam, a lemon pastry jam tart......oh wow, i am going to try this.

Or pistachio or lemon or almond or even hazlenut biscuits sandwiched with rose jam, like super fancy jammy dodgers.

I made a lemon sponge ( thanks Jojo) and put some of the rose jam in the custard - it was lovely.
Hubby made some vanilla ice cream, we had some of last years raspberries in the freezer so blitz that up into a couli (sp) and added some of the jam to it , again really lovely.
Also made some scones and had the jam with some cream, again very nice. Problem is , we are now running short!
It's amazing that something you really didn't like could, with some help from MSE'ers, turn into something wonderful.:D
    Thanks for all the ideas

Its not that hard to get hold of in some parts of the country. If you have a middle eastern/turkish type shop near you thy are very likely to stock it, or a small 'foreign foods' type store,..the kind that stocks favourites for people from various places overseas living here. We are lucky as we get it in London very easily.

I want to try it - I'll look out for a suitable shop as a trip to Morroco is out of the question at the moment :naughty:
