Removing creases from a tie

I have some ties that I have opened up and re-tied because:
- I am taller now and they are tied too short
- Some my dad tied with a small knot and I prefer a bigger one
However some of them now have creases on the front part - how can I remove these? Should I iron with something placed over the tie and if so what?

If they are silk then use a damp glass cloth or piece of muslin with a cool iron, if they are polyester just a cool iron straight onto the tie or if you are not good at ironing use a cloth.0

I have a rolled up newspaper that I place inside the tie opening then press with an iron over a cloth. I find it stops creases/ridges in the tie.MoneySavingUser wrote: »I have some ties that I have opened up and re-tied because:

Can I suggest that in future you untie your tie every time you take it off, as that would avoid long-term creasing.0
