OS daily Sunday 29th April

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 28th April. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all!! Not been to bed yet....but didn't get up til 7pm last night! had a shocker of a hangover which I blame on dieting, as all i seem to consume now is fruit and veg! Still my own fault, and steering clear of alcohol for a while now!

Kitchen and bathroom are cleaned, and I've cleaned out the bunny and the bread maker is on, OH is still asleep so don't want to do upstairs as I'll probably get told off for waking him up!

Plan for today is a big food shop and then maybe dinner out, depending on OH's mood, he really wants steak, but might convince him we can have steak tomorrow instead!

Hugs to all who need them, esp adelight x

Have a lovely sunday all!! Off to read my kindle :)

Morning bramble and all who follow.

Weather is absolutely shocking here :eek: and I have to walk the dog in it :( time to break out my old wetsuit methinks!!!

Not sure what plans are today, shan't be going far in weather like this. Had rough night with kids too so suspect at some point bed will be calling me ;)
Tea will be the usual roast chicken although I didn't get one out of the freezer to defrost so will have to use some frozen chicken breasts.

Hugs and spoons all round, hope the weather is calmer where you are.

Very little sleep to be had last night, it was very noisy round here & didn't quieten down 'til gone 1 & now I'm up & getting breakfast for hubby who is of to work soon.
I have the last few bits of paid for sewing to finish today, I shall strip the beds, make ready meals for hubby next week, & dye my roots.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Good Morning All

Yep, rain is relentless here too, just hasn't stopped. Can't see DS' footie match being on but just waiting for the official text.

So will be a home day, plenty to keep me busy. Just about to put gammon in slow cooker, so will be gammon, mash, cauliflower cheese tonight with hopefully enough leftovers for bubble n squeak ham and eggs tomorrow.

Hope you have a good day & keep dry.x

    Morning :hello:

Rain rain rain. I have a soggy garden and wet straggly chickens :(

I've just checked online banking, Eon have refunded £42 and put my DD down by £17 a month :T Mr tru has had a pay rise of £2000 a year :T I can finally save for the dentist. Mind you, by the time I have enough cash, my teeth will have either crumbled away or fallen out :D Never mind, I'll be able to afford dentures, lol.

This year so far has been rubbish, it really can't get much worse. Maybe it's on the up at last. I've been a bit more positive the last few days (with the odd wobbly, angry moment thrown in). Hopefully it'll continue.

So, on to today. Don't know yet :D

  • Hi Guys!

Its horrid here and the weather is really causing havoc with my joints. Nurses have been and are coming back later. DW has been emptied and WM has been put on with stuff that can be TD'd.

OH did us bacon and egg sandwiches for breakfast, but I could only eat half as I felt a little sick. He's prepared a chicken, spuds for roasts and the veggies for when he gets back from church. He's just waiting for a lift as we don't have the car but he's left me with a hot cup of tea in a travel cup, cheese sandwich, kitkat and a teacake. He'll only be gone for 2hrs :rotfl:

Anyway, hope you all have a lovely day.

    Morning everyone,

PP hope that your joints ease up and so does the rain!

Tru hope that things get better for you.

Bramble food is more important than alcohol.:D

    Hugs to Molly and LW.

JackieO hope that the weather isn't spoiling your holiday.

    Welcome back Bargainbird

I went to the theatre last night to see Mary Shelley. It was absolutely brilliant. My friend who had lost her dog this week went with me and she really appreciates all your good wishes. They are going to scatter her dog's ashes in the park.

Church this morning and then I am spending the day cooking, cleaning and ferrying children around.

    Have a lovely day everyone.:)

Hester and Moorhen - thank you for thinking of me. Im reading but not posting much as it is pretty dire as regards OS atm.

The weather here has been diabolical overnight. The winds have been so strong that at one point I feared for my roof as it did literally lift up:eek::eek::eek: This left me cuddling the dogs whilst everyone else slept their way though it:eek::eek::eek: Dogs just gone out for a quick walk. Molly hates it so she was really on a go slow but on the other hand Poppy loves the wind in her face so was prancing around.

No plans today but wont be going out as the wind will blow me over. Hope you all have a peaceful Sunday xx
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
