Can Tassimo discs be used in my DeLonghi espresso machine?
My friend has some Tassimo discs which she doesn't want. Does anyone know if I'd be able to use them in my DeLonghi Espresso machine? My machine does take pods but ESE pods and I don't think they're the same. If they don't fit in my machine, is there any way to make use of them? For example, would it be possible to cut the…

Giving cream cakes
I plan on making a Black Forest gateau as a Christmas present for the office staff this year, but I'm a bit worried about giving a cake made with fresh cream. There is a fridge they can keep it in, but I'm worried that it won't all get eaten straightaway and I don't know how long to tell them it will keep for. Can anyone…

I haven't made mince pies since I was very young so fancied doing some this year. We are going to use supermarket mince after working out how much it would cost to buy all the bits (I was looking at the hairy bikers version). I had 2 questions, does anyone have a favourite recipe for the pastry, and instead of doing them…

How to clean roasting pans/dishes?
Ok, so as the question stands - how do you clean your roasting pans/dishes? We bought Anolon roasting pan/tin with the rack. It is only a year on, and the coating has started coming off. It is covered in brownish dots/spots, and although we wash it thoroughly every time we use it, it is looking manky! So, how do you clean…

Light starter for Christmas Day lunch?
Hi all, This year we're cooking for 9 for Christmas. We will have the full works for main course, and lots of puddings, so I'm looking for ideas for a very light starter. Four of the guests don't like smoked salmon, so that's out. I think soup will be too filling but can't think of anything else that's not bread-based or…

I mainly need to know about the…

Making microwable handwarmers
As a teacher, I want to give something to my tutor group. They are 15 years old, and school has decided that gloves cannot be worn at break/lunch so many students are not bothering to wear them even walking into school. Bought microwavable handwarmers are expensive, but I see it is possible to make them using wheat/rice…
